Have you ever cut up your thumb doing that? I alwayswrap it in kleenex (generic) and break off the top with a tiny socket wrench. IP: Logged |

I usually use a pen cap. Last week one of my buddys tried to show me how to do it with my hands. I ended up slicing my thumb pretty good. So I'm sitting there after about 6 or 7 Corona's with my hand bleeding all over the plae and my drunk buddy sticking a pin in my leg. That is wrong. Do this: 1. Wrap a rag around the amp..like wash cloth or something ...doing it with cloth avoids cuts...you will get cut eventually. Nothing worse than those tiny little glass particles in your fingers. IP: Logged |

When an amp shatters like that and you get that glass sand everywhere, aren't you ever concerned that you are injecting yourself with little glass particles? I had a bunch of primo that broke off so nice, and now I have some CYTAHOH and they just about shatter apart. I actually crushed one amp completely to shit because I had to push so hard to break off the tip! IP: Logged |

I guess I make this to complicated cuz I use a small file to cut a tiny groove around the amp. Takes about 30-60 seconds. Makes it so easy. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I have the easiest way I can't believe no one else uses this:: take a syringe pull out the plunger and use this to pop the amp open. just put the mouth around the top of the amp its so easy and breaks clean every time no mess or worry about glass in your fingers. IP: Logged |

CB, but then your syringe is not steril anymore. I use a vile, only go from left to right for a few times (2 or 3 seconds). No need to go around the amp all the way. Just one side and it is done. Jeff ------------------ IP: Logged |

i use a file, a couple of times around and then i wrap a piece of scotch tape around then neck and snap it off, if it shatters the tape holds it together, just like tint on a car window, they brake but they don't shatter,,,,,same principle, it works for me so far ------------------ IP: Logged |
