MY FRIEND JUST GOT PULLED OVER AND HAD HIS CAR SEARCHED THEY FOUND 4-5 AMPS OF SUS AND 8 PRIMO AMPS. THE COP TOOK THEM AND SAID THEY HAD TO IDENTIFY THEM, I GUESS HE WASNT SURE WHAT IT WAS, WHEN THEY FIND OUT ITS JUICE, HOW MUCH LEGAL TRUOBLE IS THIS GUY IN, ALSO ANY LEGAL ADVICE OR COMMENTS WOULD BE HELPFUL. It is a controlled substance. Not a good thing. If they let him go and did not arrest him though, don't worry. I was stopped several times and none AS drugs were found. They scared me with the promise of having them tested and coming to get me. Never happen. The times I was arrested was on the spot, even if they did not know what the stuff was. They test it while you are in holding. Then it is a felony, and it depends on how many offenses you have had. First one, don't worry. Probation at worst. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Once they check with their local sources, the cops will find out they are roids and your bud will most likely be issued a summons to appear, or an arrest warrant for possession of a controlled substance. They may also refer him to their local drug task force for surveillance....something to think about. IP: Logged |

First, a cop cannot just take something from someone because it needs to be identified. He would have had to arrest the individual for possession of a controlled substance. Second, did you buddy give permission to search the vehicle? Was the stuff in plain view? Why did they pull the car over? (probable cause for car stop) was he issued a ticket or an NTA, notice to appear? sounds fishy to me. Need more info. chesty ------------------ IP: Logged |

 I know the U.S. considers steroids illegal. But according to an FDA ruling of 1988. I believe due to Americans who have incurable diseases and were seeking more experimental drugs and treatments that are not approved by your U.S. government from foreign nations. Unless the ruling was changed it stated that one could have steroids providing the supply did not exceed three months and it is for personal use. ~Goku~ IP: Logged |

I think it varies state to state. The cops also took my money. Of course when I signed the seizure papers, it said there was less than there was. Then I got some of the money back. Sounds like the cops and all their buddies had a nice steak dinner on me and let me keep the car. Can't say I blame them. From a legal standpoint, most steroids are considered a controlled substance. It is illegal in ALL states, as this is a Federal issue (FDA), though penalties are different state to state. Generally, feds/cops do not want to deal with the steoid issue unless you are trafficking. I forget the name of the law (act) but will research and post if I can dig it up. This law/act outlines the federal "recommended" sentencing guidelines as well. I do not recall the differentiation between trafficking and simple possession. ------------------ IP: Logged |

There is no set weight for trafficing laws. Basically its distribution and it must me more than one "Ordinary PErson" can take. Your car has NOTHING to do with it.. Thats with marijuana(10lbs or more) or using a vehicle or knowing that said vehicle is used during the commission of a sale of either a class A,B,C Drug.. In MA Steroids are a class E.. but a schedule 3 drug... It is a misdemeanor for possession and carries a 1000.00 fine or up to 1 1/2 years in jail.. Steroids arent like coke, heroine or marijuana.. Those have specific weights in order to get busted harder and harder. The govt. doesn't allow the possession or use but they aren't very concerned with minor possession they are after the"BIG FISH" An for all of those sceptics... I know what I am talking about!! BTW... Chesty, I agree that a P.O. cant take something for the hell of it, he can seize anything in plain view that he believes is contraband and hold it for a length of time that it takes to get analyzed.. I have done it with cocaine and it has stood up in court. It is all Officer descretion.. I agree that it does sound fishy, but it does depend on which state it is in.. One more thing.. wether I work in Law Enforcement has no bearing on my personal views on the use of A.S. for the betterment of ones performance and personal appearance.. IP: Logged |

The personal use agenda applies only to those drugs that the FDA or equal have yet to test and approve for use withing the states. There is no personal use for any controlled substances. You are less likely to be thrown under the bus with a small amount but make no mistake, it is still illegal and considered a sch III drug. The major mistake here was having the gear in the car, I know shit happens but when you have the gear on your person or inthe car you are asking for trouble. If you woul dhave had a larger amount, it could have been a case of attempt to distrubute, which is big time trouble. SOmewhere I read a report that claimed that a large percentage of drug busts came from simple traffic violations which led to a search. Why risk it ? BPP IP: Logged |
