![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Yeah...I use the vet version...also....I do about 3cc's a week in the fat tissue of my abdomin..... but first...I hope you know a little about B12 ...it's other name (Cobalamin) supports the immune system and the nervous system. It has been used successfully in the treatment of some mental illnesses. The vitamin in injected into the fat tissue around the "belly button" (most absorbent area of fat) with a small needle( like an insulin syringe) or in the muscle(with a big needle) .. (I do the fat area)......There is something called the "intrinsic factor" (digestive factor)that is in your small intestine..you must have this to absorb B12 if you take it "oral".....this is why so many people use injections..they lack this "factor". Thousands of people do not let a week go by without injecting, which claims are "more energy" and "feel better"..... My Dr. recommends 1000mcg once a month...but I shoot 2 or 3 cc's a week without any problems...but I can sometimes taste it and my urine will turn kinda red.(this is a sign I've taken to much...so the next week I slack off) It wouldn't hurt to take oral Folate with it.It is part of an enzyme complex that handles metabolism. This action helps convert B12 to one of its coenzyme forms and helps synthesize the DNA required for all rapidly growing cells.... sorry such long explanation...you may have already known all of this..lol Later Pandora IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Pandoras, I appreciate your post. Vitamins are so damned important, an I've been experimenting around with B-12 for quite some time (I hope it's helped with whatever mental illness I might have -- besides hanging out at the Elite Fitness board, of course.) I'm going to try injecting in the naval area, as you suggested. Heretofore, it's been an insulin needle in the delt. (And before getting some good advice from a bro ont his board, it was a 23 guage in the arm.) Dexter ------------------ IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I have been injecting b12 in muscle tissue only. But now from reading this I'm not sure. Does it matter? Fat or muscle, which is better? Thanks Bro's. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Good post Pandora. I usually see the injectable B12 as a sustained release preparation. The instructions say deep intramuscular injections, which kinda makes sense to me, as the vascularity of the muscle tissue is higher than that of the fatty layers. Which means better absorption. And I'd think 1000mcg each week or five days would be quite enough, as Pandora said, the excess is excreted out of the body, which means a load on the kidney that has to filter all substances in excess. I've something quite nice, which is a sublingual form of B12, and I think it's sold OTC. This form gets around the intrinsic factor going straight to the blood stream, without the pain of an extra poke. I love this board when people share potentially useful information, and when the flamers and 12 year olds are not logged on. Don't you?! IP: Logged |
