I guess I dont understand this so Im going to ask you vets. Ok , How does customs flag a source if ALL return adresses are bogus,all return adresses are different on each package. All adresses (to customer)are different. All packages are small,no boxes just envelopes. How do they flag it with No outside distinguishable markings. It seems they would have to go through each and every peice of mail entering the country,every one individually. How many customs agents are there? 90 million? IP: Logged |

They wouldnt be able to. The only thing they do keep tabs on are the postcodes which are read by a machine! If the machine reads a postcode that has had an interception before then the parcel is set aside for examination. Even then they still dont open it! instead the parcel is xrayed or camera probes inserted into the parcel, only then is it opened if the contents looked suspect! ------------------ IP: Logged |

Xcyter; msg had an interesting reply to last night's discussion. That's some pretty scary shit. Large scale x-ray equip., fiber optic cameras, laser density sensors.....they don't have to have a flagged return address to scan everything from hot list areas. I have a feeling our risks are going to increase. I shoot the shit with the kid who runs the counter at my local fedex airport hub - he says they x-ray all suspicious packages, and others at random. They also have dogs who smell drugs or cash. Anyone have ideas on how to package to defeat these devices?? This is an interesting and important topic, x. ironmaster, head to your local hunting store and pick up a bottle of scent neutralizer and spray it on what ever it is that you want to get past those dogs and it will get it by with out detection. just be sure and use it liberally and on everything that has been touched by the cash or gear. mike IP: Logged |
