1IU is equal to 1/100th of a CC - why don't you get an insulin needle bro? It will make your life much easier and your measurements much more accurate! IP: Logged |

It depends on what gear you are using, an IU is a measure of concentration of the gear. It will be different depending on the gear. IP: Logged |

What is the volume of liquid in the 18 IU bottle? If you only want 5 IU, then you draw up 5/18 of the total volume, which is less than a third and more than a quarter of the total volume. 100 IU = 1 cc (=1 mL) only applies to insulin. GH is much more dilute, and HCG is much more concentrated usually. IP: Logged |

You've got this IU thing all wrong. IU (International Units) is an arbitrary measure of activity (i.e. biological activity of the substance), not volume. Therefore this will vary with substance, and many times manufacturers of the same substance. Look at the vial. Hopefully there will be some indication on it such at "4.1 IU/CC after reconstitution" in the case of HGH. Then, you need to do some calculations of your own to determine how much you need to inject. If you're using an insulin syringe for HGH, ignore any markings regarding IUs on the cylinder. They are usless for HGH as the concentration for insulin versus HGH is much different. Be smart out there. Read your products. If you want any more specifics, feel free to e-mail me. If you're wondering, I've worked in several biochemical, biological, and biomedical laboratories. I've worked with HGH many times. [This message has been edited by GymRatSD (edited June 23, 2000).] IP: Logged |

Please read and follow the reply by GymRat....he is the only person on this thread who is really correct on this. International Units (I.U.)is measured by concentration. Actually there is 2.7 I.U per mg. So, if you have 5mg of compound multiply by 2.7 and that is the I.U. in that vial or whatever you have. Then you have a solution to mix it with.... you could mix it with 1ml (cc) then you would have 13.5 I.U ( ex: 2.7 x 5)per ml(cc) if you mix it with 2 ml(cc) you would have 6.75 I.U per ml and on and on..... The units on an insulin needle are ONLY UNITS...NOT INTERNATIONAL UNITS. They are only used to measure units of insulin and that is all..... Now you can figure the rest out on your own. Good luck IP: Logged |

Lorenzo and Gymrat are right. Insulin units are not International units. IP: Logged |

there are 100 iu in a cc. Get 1/2 cc darts that are metric calibrated. ------------------ If you enjoy it today you can always do it again tomorrow. IP: Logged |

There are NOT 100 I.U. in a cc/ml!!!! you can buy insulin needles that are marked in UNITS (NOT INTERNATIONAL UNITS) you can buy a .5ml (cc) insulin syringe that has 50 unit markings or you can buy a 1ml (cc) insulin syringe that is marked with 100 units. These are only units to measure insulin dosage and are not the same as International Units (I.U.) [This message has been edited by lorenzo (edited June 23, 2000).] IP: Logged |

THE UNITS ON AN INSULIN NEEDLE ARE FOR INSULIN ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!!! The IUs of GH per cc is based on the mg concentration ( a 15iu bottle of Saizen for example when mixed with 2.5 ml of h20 will yield a concentration of 6ius per cc ) ps. the 2.7iu/mg thing is exactly correct thats why your bottle says " aproximately " [This message has been edited by BigWh1tey (edited June 23, 2000).] IP: Logged |
