Ive got this real sharp pain in my elbow whenever I do bench, incline, etc. It also hurts when I hold my elbow against my side and point my forearm to the outside and try to flex my tricep. Anybody else ever have this kind of problem? Its getting really annoying and makes me nervous to go heavy on the lifts. Appreciate any input.

well , first of all you shouldnt have jerked it that one final time last night.....

as far as the pain goes , try some hyper extensions to stretch the tendons. you could also coat it with a solid layer of deep cold gel and pray for the best. when mine was sore about a year ago(lingering effects of an old snowboard injury)i bought this band that is worn high around the forearm . it helped alot. good luck

I've had every pain you can imagine in my elbows. What works best for me is to take 3 ibuprofen 3 times a day and put ice packs on the injured elbow immediately after working out until the pain has gone.

SOUNDS LIKE YOU STRAINED IT. WORKOUT ON YOUR LEGS FOR AWHILE. REST FOR A WEEK ON THE BENCHING. IF PAIN CONTINUES YOU MIGHT WANT TO SEE A DOCTOR.

Have you ever tried useing DMSO? On some injuries it can work wonders. Also I would stop doing exercises that agrivate it. There are more ways to work your chest then just inclines and benches.

I have tendonitis in my elbow and wrists, hurts like hell...but that is usually on curls...at the very least it sounds like a tendon or ligament...

Ice after working out will help more than most people will credit...20min on 20 min off.

See a sports doctor or ortho...do not accept cortizone..

I had tendinitus in my right inner elbow, and now in my left inner elbow. Go to doc and get it checked. Lay off weights and do rehabilitation exercises.

Had it for all my lifting years. Bench was the main reason along with lying skull crushers. Always flared when i felt good and went heavier. Even with a good warmup still painful till i completed the first crushers set, then it would fade(that is until
a few hours later and then all night). Rest ice and massage help but in the end i just have to be careful and work thru it-itll never totally go away.

tape your elbows, so you will not be able to fully overload them. Deca might help. Rest is the best thing, but a week will not be enough.
You can see a doctor, but he will not be able to cure you. Even massage (you know from a kinesist, don't know the English name for it), treatment with hot lamps, electricity, NOTHING helps. Try training around the injury. This means no french curls with a straight or cambered bar.
You can do french curls lying on a bench with 2 dumbells (if you're lucky), dumbs pointing towards your face. The load will be in the center of your triceps and arm. This works for me, and I have tendonitis since 15 years. I assume you also have a golf-elbow ?

I was having some elbow pain for a long time....just figured it was tendonitis or something. I went to a chiroprator for something totally unrelated and when she was examining me, she said my elbow and my shoulder were "out." She adjusted them and the pain went away. I didn't realize your elbow could be out like your back or neck, but apparently this can happen with any joint in your body.
