 Kidney Scarring???

Hey bros. Some of you may recall I posted that a buddy of mine had swelled up like a ballon about a week after a comeptition. Couldnt put shoes on or anything and he was in severe pain. Well, I have somewhat of an update for those of you who may be interested. (side note, he went to the Emer room first, one of the 1st things they asked him was if he used AS, he had to say yes due to the condition he was in. Says they basicly gave him the cold shoulder after that. Made him waite around and shit and made him feel like wasnt important cuz he had done it to himself or something.) The Doc thinks he "scared his kidneys". I have never heard of this. He did have to tell the doc he was using AS. He swelled up because his kidneys could not rid his body of water. They did blood work and found creatinin (sp?, the waste product) levels and protein levels were dangerously high. Before he went to the emer room he thought drinking water would help but it only made matters worse, about 2 gal per day, thats why he was so swollen. The cause: The doc thinks it was due to lasix (sp?) and diaretics he was takeing before the show, about a week out. They said they "think" he completly "dried" up his kidneys causing the scarring. Hes supposed to see a specialist in a couple of weeks. For now, no AS, no nothing. He even has to watch his water intake, if he drinks to much he'll swell up again. Anyway, this is what they're telling him. I dont know if this a doc full of BS or not. Im only telling ya'll what they told him. Anyone ever hear of something like this? He thinks he's thru w/BB, or AS anyway. This kinda freaked him out. IP: Logged |

lasix, if he used lasix what the doc said is tru his body is holding on to the watter, a budy of mine had the same problem he looked like he ate 20 anadrol 50s a day it went avay after like a month IP: Logged |
