How many of you guys get a great workout from your job? I work in motorway construction, I guess you guys would call it freeway construction and i have to tell you the particular line of work i do has the amazing benefit of an awesome complete body workout.....I get pumped all day then some more at night when i go to the gym. I feel sorry for all you pen pushers stuck in the office all day when I can work outside in the glorious sun and get bgger and fitter everyday without thinking about it. Peace be with you IP: Logged |

I worked as a box pusher at UPS for about a year. Lifting 70 and 80 lb. boxes will build muscle, but I was so worn out everynight, I didn't think about it. On top of that, I ate like a bird and lifted with really bad form. IP: Logged |

I'm a pencil pusher now and it sucks. I can feel my body getting softer every month, it makes me sick. I used to work at Club Med. Playing volleyball, soccer, tennis, basketball, rollerblading, swimming, and waterskiing all day, every day for a couple years really keeps you in good shape. Plus if you work in Mexico for 6 months you don't even have to worry about customs. Now I look forward to working out after work, but I know i'm no where near the shape I was in a few years ago. I like sittin' on my ass. I hate my job... but I like sittin' here. That way... I get to eat more often, soak up the calories, and have a ton of energy saved up for my lift, which I do on my break, which frees up my nights. IP: Logged |

Well when I was a student I worked hard on a construction type job and it was a good workout but interfered with my training. Although it was only for the summer. I couldn't train Squats or Deads during the week cause the DOMS prevented me from doing my job. I was also so burnt out I couldn't train as hard at night. Most days where 12+ hour days and with little to no breaks. So never enough food. Sure you get exercise and stay lean but I prefer my sit on my ass job. I can eat when I want. Post here while at work and I know my shifts 2 weeks in advance. Always 37.5 hrs a week and 2 days off. I eat a little less cause I burn less but that's it. When I am here I can rest and let my muscles recuperate and grow. NOT TO FLAME ANYONE OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT JUST A THOUGHT. I'M A PENCIL PUSHER AND IT SUCKS I WOULD RATHER BE OUTSIDE IN THE SUN AND ALL. BUT MOST PHYSICAL JOBS WHILE BUILDING STRENGTH THEY PROBALY DONT BUILD A SIGNIFAGANT AMOUNT OF MUSCLE UNLESS YOU CONCENTRATE HEAVILY ON YOUR FORM WHEN WORKING ALL DAY. WHICH WOULD MOST LIKELY LOOK PRETTY FUNNY DOING LUNGES WHILE WALKING DOWN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY WITH AN 85# BOX. ALTHOUGH IM SURE ITS GREAT FOR KEEPING LEAN!!! IP: Logged |

Hey flossin you are wrong my lats and traps have never been as full as they are now due to my job...trust me you also get to work muscles that have never been used before and it carries over into the gym when you find you can do exercises with much greater fluidity.

I'm with big bro val. I train before work, so I can sit back all day, graze, recover, push the pencil around a little, and by the time I get my second wind, it's time to go home to sleep. Damn, that's a run-on sentence if I've ever seen one. ------------------ IP: Logged |
