I went to the dermatologist to combat this acne that has really taken me over. I didn't really want to go the Accutane route..not yet at least. So I was given Tetracycline which is an antibiotic frequently used to treat acne...I took it in my teens as well and it worked great. Any of you have experience with Tetracycline for acne? How long for it to start working? What about sunlight and other sides? IP: Logged |

Yes, I took it for a while. It worked for a while and then wasn't any longer effective so my doc switched me to stronger medicines. Now i'm on cephalexin, also known as keflex. But it too isn't as effective as it was when i started taking it. I'll have to switch again soon. IP: Logged |

I have taking tetracycline (spelling) i found it didn't do much for me. I find the sun has been working wonders for me latley, cuz it is summer now, and i am outside lots. So give that a try or tanning booths. kram-mark IP: Logged |

Dude I had moderate to bad acne and I tried that Pro Active shit and it worked. I takes about 6 weeks depending on how bad it is but I worked for me. IP: Logged |

I use clearasil soap, stridex pads and clearasil all once in morning and once before bed, plus tan 2x a week, and it is working. The key is to not break out once you break out you are FUCKED, for at least a few weeks ------------------ IP: Logged |

The problem is my back...and my stoumach has got funky acne its never seen before ...one day you wake up and there just 2 giant zits on your stoumach out of nowhere! No way Jose!...get this shit out of here. I remember a long time when I took Tetracycline and I went tanning or was out in the sun. I actually burnt like crazy ...no tan and I'm dark skinned. I've only hit one cycle of Test/Eq but I just tanned twice a week and used Gold dial. It doesn't have any moisturizers and it's anti-bacterial. I didn't get but 2 or 3 small zits on my shoulders. Just buy a shower muff and load up the soap. Later, Green IP: Logged |

Tetracycline can interfere with the absorption of nutrients, which we all know is VERY important on a cycle. I knew a couple guys who took tetra and had about 1/2 the gains they normally experienced because the antibiotic was creating havoc with their intestinal absorption. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Accutane ,discovered in 1982 for severe recalcitrant cystic acne......I've tried everything in the past......Pro active, benzol peroxides, neutrogena soaps, eucerin cream, Lachydrin Lotions with Alph-Hydroxy....and of course...the antibiotics your taking.....none worked...or if they did..it was minimal.....Accutane works for "cystic acne" which is what people usually get on roids.......And I'm sure you know...it causes birth defects in women who are pregnant and there are side effects, like dryness, headaches, decreased night vision......Accutane decreases the amount of oil produced by the skin's sebaceous (oil) glands. It may be as long as two months before you see an improvement. why not get a second opinion from a Different doc? are the above side effects why you don't want to use it?...It is expensive as hell too....... I'm younger than most of you guys (21) so it hasn't been that long since I took it for zits. I know in the sun wou will fry, but a little sun is good and will really keep the zits down. I think the fact that you burn easier is what is best about the drug. I do remember the doctor saying something about absorbing nutrients. That shit also made me piss alot also, bright stinky yellow piss. I might be hard on the kidneys if on the gear. .02 ------------------ IP: Logged |

I heard the same thing about tetracycline and gear at the same time. I know it's an antibiotic, but I think I heard or read it has antiinflamitory properties and will minimize the effects of juice. tetracycline will only cause tooth staining if you are a child and have devloping teeth, or if you are pregnant with a child....i dont think it causes staining in adult fully formed teeth. if it does, then a dentist can bleach them for you easily. ask your dentist, we learned about tertracycline in dental school IP: Logged |
