I was injecting sust this morning with a 1.5" 20g needle. I pushed it in all the way into my glute, but my hand was shaking a bit. As I pulled the needle about a quarter way out some blood rushed into the syringe. This has never happened to me before. The injection doesn't hurt any more than usual. If I hit a blood vessel when will I know, and what should I do? Also, if I hit a blood vessel, will it make this dose non- effective? THANKS BROS, I appreciate any help in advamce. IP: Logged |

Did you pull out the needle or the plunger a little? If you see blood when you pull out the plunger a little, you hit a blood vessel. It's not going to harm you, but the juice will be relatively ineffective. [This message has been edited by GymRatSD (edited June 19, 2000).] IP: Logged |

Not to flame you....but why are you using a 20g pin? I'm assuming you're using the pin supplied with sust redijects? You really should swap that for a 23g 1 1/2" pin. When you aspirate and blood is drawn into the plunger, you should pull the pin out and find another site for injection. Gear injected into the bloodstream will be filtered out by the liver. Don't panic EMT or worry. Next time, jab the pin in and shoot it in. No need to draw back. The pros do it. I mean the top pros. Just ask them when you get a chance to. A lot of people believe drawing the plunger back but this is not necessary. Hey SSMAN, are you sure A/S will be filtered by the liver if it gets into the blood stream? I thought pills get filtered by the liver. If I am wrong, then why is pill more toxic to the liver than injection. IP: Logged |
