To date, NO ONE has died from anabolic steroid use. Lyle died from a brain tumor caused by a bad pharmaceutical GH taken from cadavors. Him and a lot of others, (mainly in Europe) died from the same disease carried in this particualr product. The product Lyle took was GRORM...not an anabolic steroid. A growth hormone, which is still legal in the US. It has been replaced with synthetically derived versions of the same drug which do not cause this problem. The only other people to have ever died from steroid use are people who had medical problems to begin with or were taking the hormones for no less than 4 years streight without an off cycle. Elevated liver levels were inaccurate, so ALL THE TESTS THAT SAID PEOPLE HAD LIVER DAMAGE were wrong! They have recently admitted this. Steroids have been around since testosterone was introduced in the early 40's. By the fifties D-ball was developed by an American Scientist and Chemist, Dr. John Ziegler of Olney, Maryland. Since than we have been able to see the long term effects on the bodybuilders, and believe it or not, with proper cycling techniques and dosing, the results are life extending, not life reducing. Thats a fact! The real test will be when the bodybuilders of today get older. I will have my room mate put a post about this later on this week. He knows a lot about this one. IP: Logged |

The original Ultimate Warrior is still alive, that rumor will never die I guess. It's very hard to say who has and hasn't dies from AAS abuse. If you look at pro wrestling, Ravishing Rick Rude and Brian Pillman had heart attacks. Both used other drugs as well as roids. Pro roid people blame the other drugs, anti roid people blame AS. Pillman's autopsy revealed that nearly 85% of his heart was diseased. He also took pain killers, and sleeping pills. I would have to think in his case that AAS played a big role. It is easy for guys who use to make up excuses when somebody dies blaming everything under the sun but roids...I have done it myself. The only way anybody will ever know is when more extensive research is done, it will also be a learning experience when today's Mr O competitors approach mid-life to see what, if any complications they encounter. Does anyone subcribe to Maxim magazine? I lost the issue but I think it was around June of last year, they had an article (documentary style) in there on a guy who was on the brink of death from as ABUSE. Typical steakhead who was on for years straight, with no obvious precautionary measures put into his cycle (if you want to call it that). Got absolutely huge and just wanted to get bigger and bigger and one day tore his quad doing squats of sorts. Actually tore it off the bone!! He was so juiced up, it didn't even hurt. He went to the hospital and they didn't even think he'd be able to walk for like 6mo's. Well he stayed on the sauce and was back squatting in about a month..........as it turned out he did the same thing again, got some sort of bad infection in the torn muscle and it got all abcessed and swollen. Admitted himself to the hospital, and the muscle was actually rotting (gangrine sp?) he almost died from the infection and barely was able to keep his leg from being amputated. He withered away to nothing in the hospital, got out and was all depressed. The rest of his organs were all fucked up from all the drugs and shit and he just couldn't get healthly. Well he twisted his knee again and they almost had to cut it off again b/c there was no muscle left to support the skeletal structure. They put him on pain meds which made him constipated to the point where he couldn't shit at all. It was so painful and he was so fucked up that he actually tried to cut his asshole open with a razor blade!!! I guess around this point he was at rock bottom and finally realized that he had to do something b/c of his kids and family. Started taking meditation and martial arts type classes. Slowly rehabed his body and mind and is now alive and just an average guy 180lbs or so. I left a lot out, but it was a really intrigueing story. A must read for anyone who thinks they are invinceable. Certainly, a worst case scernerio and paints a bad picture of steroids to the general public, but anyone on this board would certainly feel this guys pain. out. IP: Logged |

I read that article. But there a lot of uneducation in what dude did. See he started taking pills probable anadrol of dbal and when he'd get off the cycle he's lose it all. But that's normal if you don't stack an oral. He could of taken deca or something kept 90% post-cycle and never done that shit. 12years of abuse. Roids don't kill STUPIDITY does!!!! IP: Logged |

got that issue. Great article. But, that's what happens when you don't cycle the stuff. Let that be a lesson for those of you who are on year around. We had a speaker who played pro football and took roids for three years straight. He said he took everything he could get his hands on with no breaks for those three years. Kidrock is absolutely right!!! I saw a documentary about 6 months ago that stated as of that broadcast not 1 autopsy has ever ruled the cause of death as Steriod usage. There will be innuendo, but never has been 1 to point that finger. Its too hard to prove even from a medical stand point. The media always posts the negative side of AS. I think someone should do an article on the right way to take them and the positve effects on ones life. Not some underground steroid handbook that gets read by only us and a few other meatheads, but say an article in Time or Newsweek. Can you imagine the general population reading about a 40 year old guy with 6-7% bodyfat, a muscular physique, working out with guys half his age, playing competitve sports, using steroids correctly with little or no undesirable side affects? Now follow up his interview with objective opinions by doctors who tell why injectable roids are safer, how to cycle safely, which steroids are good to stack with, and recommends good cycles for athletes, lifters, and older people. Wouldn't that be a kick in the ass for everyone trying to look down on you in the gym for using? in 1986 the university of South Carolina football team lost two lineman from a form of heart faliure from a combination of cocaine/and years of continuous steroid abuse. The slogan of the team was "bury me massive" -appearently it worked. John Cordic a hockey player for bunch of teams died from the same combo. John Rienstra a Lineman for the Pittsburgh steelers in the late 70's is dying from heart/liver faliure. Who knows the horde of shit he was on. IP: Logged |

Duchaine died from a kidney disease that was genetic. He was going to die from it sooner or later. We really don't know if what AS Duchaine used shortened or maybe even prolonged his life. Munzer internal bleeding, maybe lasix or other diuretics plus aspirin in a ECA stack trying to get cut. Aspirin does thin your blood. Many people have died from AS abuse. Munzer DID die from AS and other related drugs.I'm close with quite a few pros and you guys would DIE if you knew what they had to do.I'm talking a 126iu HGH kit PER wk. 3-4,000mg. of juice a wk.,on top of 10-40 Percocets a DAY!! Joint pain,abnormal sleep patterns..etc. Many of the guys wack 1/2 a bottle of Nubain a day, and eat about 20mg. of xanax a day!! I would never want to be a pro!!! J IP: Logged |

Lyle Alzado died of HIV/AIDS. His wife did some domestic abuse seminars talking about him and how he used to beat her. She said he lived with his boyfriend most of the time and that the boyfriend died of AIDS. They (the shrinks and doctors) said that he's a classic closet homosexual. He got married and had a family to try and deny to himself that he was attracted to men, and abused his wife as a means of asserting some kind of psuedo-masculinity. Like a way to convince himself of how manly he is... Like mrstein said, it was well known among the raiders team and coachs, and he was even co-owner of a gay bar in oakland (if I remember right). I dont care about his personal choices or how he lived his personal life, but to blame steroids on it because he's not man enough to own up to what he brought on himself (through unsafe sex) is a shame. Heh heh, sorry to go off on a wrestling tangent, but this brings up a funny story... I was young, at the age when you really get into wrestling, and believe its all real and all that shit. I went to see a WWF show and a couple of guys were no-shows. The next day before school I hear on the news that the Detroit police had pulled over and arrested two wrestlers on the way to the venue from the hotel. The Iron Sheik and Hacksaw Jim Duggan were riding in the car together on the way there. The cops said they were smoking weed together in the car, and coccaine was found under a seat... Mohammed Benizeza(sp?) died from Lasix. It was a few years back. A bunch of hype happened then because a lot of people were saying it was the juice. He just took too many diruretics and died from the muscle cramping (heart). I don't think any studies have been done on bobybuilder deaths.... IP: Logged |

Damn Monster! You beat me to the punch by 3 posts! Lyle Alzado did indeed die from a brain tumor of the likes that in this day is only associated with HIV patients. Munzer died from extreme doses of cytradren (lowers the cortisol levels,and helps you burn that last little bit of fat,but keep your muscle) If any of you doubt the validity of the claims that steroids don't kil read the article on the elite fitness page ...I think it is under steroid law, the guy did a search and could come up with three deaths from anadrol 50,all long term users,without cycling, one was a bodybuilder,the others were sick,ther bodybuilder was taking 400mg a day for 8 years! Dumb fuck! The others were found to have died from the desease that the steroids were trying to help them with but may have contributed to there death. IP: Logged |

this is silly Jim Hellwick (sp) the one and only ultimate warrior was involved in a car accident that resulted in the removal of his entire left lat aswell as partial tricep removal. Good point Dirk...that would be the shit to have an article by Time or newsweek showing how to do roids right and the benefits and stuff, but it AINT gonna happen cuz its all ILLEGAL....lets not forget that little point. James Hellwig, the original Ultimate Warrior is alive. He covered his body with a coat during his stint in WCW because he was nowhere near the size he was in his prime and he was embarrassed to be seen shirtless. This is common in wrestling, especially when a guy comes off of an injury and he hasn't been lifting and/or juicing. They don't want the world to see how they've shrunk. it is sooo crazy to hear these ultimate warrior stories, there was only one ultimate warrior, his name is jim hellwig, he is alive, never had his arm cut off, and the only reason he looked different, is because, back in the early 90's wrestling went through this big steriod trail thing, were they had to start testing, and the only way for him to come back was to lose the juice, and that also meant a couple of pounds. at his peak, he was massive, but he lost the weight in the early 90's, and put a little more on later in the 90's when in the wwf, and wcw, after the whole steroid trail stuff. look at sting now, and 6 or 7 years ago, look at hogan, shawn micheals, scott hall, all are smaller now than 5 years ago. Have any one of you heard of Tommy Chaiken? He played noseguard for the 1986 South Carolina football team...that mother fucker said he and his friends used to have steroid parties (sounds great to me bros...anybody interested?, ha ha)where they would just fill up syringes full of juice and just shotgun steroids like crazy. He started having heart palpitations and anxiety attacks...once ha had to be taken off before the game because his heart stopped...his dad just happened upon him trying to blow his own head off with a .357 and talked him out of it...at his prime, he was 6'3" 265 and could do a one arm dumbell press of 100 lbs 30 times. He shrunk down to about 205 or so I believe...very interesting story. SO ive added all this information together and i have come up with the following startling conclusion .... Andreas Munzer and Lyle Alzado were doing coke in a car driven by the orginal Ultimate Warrior , they swerved and hit Momo Ben , because warrior was distracted by Alzados' hand on his leg.
