Now thats a funny question 1000lbs (you asked a honest question so I'll give you an honest answer but that was an open door) just giving you a hard time. To be honest 350lbs for 4 reps but I only weigh 180lbs so I don't guess that to bad

are we talking for reps or maxes here...I figured max, but I hear everyone talking about reps...I have been doing 7 set lately of 6-8 reps, soI don't go that high much..now I am getting back to 4 sets, so I hope to start repping like I used to at 315 for 6-8 reps

Guys, I apologize if posts like mine are messing up this board, but I didn't realize that asking about bench abilities from fellow members would be a negative thing here. I just thought source postings or likewise are not allowed. Thanks.

nah bro, its all good.
everyone is just messing around. see....every once in a while there is a thread like this started (every 3 weeks or so) and it gets "interesting" some of the responses that are given. some of the bros are either strong ass dudes or big ass liars. so alot of the bros just start the exaggerating off on the right foot. hehe. no disrespect to you bro, just everyone having fun. peace

You have to also take into consideration whether or not you are using proper form. I mean I've seen guys at the gym no bigger than a toothpick putting 2 plates(225) on the bench and then bouncing it off their fucking heads to try to get it up while the spotter looks like he's gonna have a heart attack trying to help him. It's pretty funny, remember it's not how much you do it's how you do it.

I maxed yesterday at 275lbs. On bad days that goes down, good days it goes up a few lbs.

I'm bench at 110 Kgs. (246 lbs.) for six reps. And I don't really give a shit what others lift.

Chill out Glen. It may not be a anabolic topic but he is not the first one to ask an overused and always exxagerated question. To answer 305 orm, so far.

Not really into maxing out that much. I always end up bringing back the tendinitis in the elbows. Last time I did it was about 6 months ago, 322lbs. for 1 good rep. w/proper form. On my good days, 290 for 4-5 reps.
Should go up though, about to start another cycle.

Who gives a shit! it is a overrated movement. inclines are much more effecient. I might bench once every 3 weeks just to mix it up. as long as i look like i can bench over 400 thats all i care about. besides when im going through mandantory poses onstage the judges dont ask me How much can you bench? But to answer you Q. 345 for 5 reps was my best. never maxed, no reason to.

I am 18 and have a 32" waist and a 43" chest and I can only bench about maybe if I am lucky 250lbs, I weigh 180 could someone explain to me how my chest is so big but it is so weak!

Guys, again, I know I asked an irrelevant question. Besides, it is so true that it's the development of the chest and not how much load it can take that counts. But like I said, I was just so curious, thanks for all your responses nevertheless!!!

a guy once told me, not to mention he use to workout with pros, "Its not how much weight you can push, its what you look like." take for instance a guy weighing 160, he says I can bench 350, so you still weigh 150, or if a guy weighs 250 and can bench 400 or more, but he still has 35 bodyfat, so man how much weight a person can lift is not everything, look at the powerlifters, they look like shit, big and blocky and even fat. Its about conditioning the muscle, a typical set on flat bench for me is 225 at 25 reps, then bounce right over to the 80 lb. dumbells for 15, now thats 40 reps in one set, with moderate to heavy weight, do that for 3 sets and you are blown.

I won't lie, I'm a pus when it comes to benching. I'm good for 225 for 6 reps on a good day. Benching has never been my thing, but I struggle along anyway. It seems to work a whole lot better than bouncing a few tons off my sternum and having my partner do a deadlift.

man your right some guys are just strong benchers, but the thing to do when it comes to bouncing is not bounce, feel the weight on the muscles your training, use the negative, control the weight, and dont bounce, know your sticking points, control the weight to the chest, take it down slow and stop a 1/2 inch or more from the chest, and explode back up. Some guys have big arms, some guys have big legs, back, chest, and so on, the thing to remember is symmetry, if your training you should stress the muscles that are bigger less, and the ones that need improvement more. Symmetry is the most important thing.
