![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() the high fat zero carb diets work very well, however I can stand the though of eating no carb. Complex is certainly better, it takes the body longer to break it down and use, thus it doesn't spike the insulin as much as sugars do. With sugars, you get an insulin spike and insulin loves to carry those sugars right into fat cells. Personally for weight loss I do, as little fat as possible, and diet around 2,000 calories divided in 5 meals with 40% carbs 60%protein. LP IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I'm with the blond myth on this one. It's real similar to what I do. BUT cutting is not a big issue for me as I maintain single digit BF. Just happens to be my genetic makeup. It's harder to gain mass for me then some people though. I guess there's a give and take there. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() The original question was concerning DNP and carb type. I don't think it matters on DNP, as long as the calories are lowered, since insulin is blunted. There is a problem with the idea that complex carbs are better than simple, since the complexity of the carbs is not what matters in absorbtion, but the fiber content of the food. Maltodextrin has a higher GI index than sucrose, potatoes have a higher GI than lactose, fructose, and sucrose. Look at the GI index and all the low GI foods are the highest in fiber, unless they are comprised of slow absorbing sugars, like lactose and fructose. IP: Logged |
