With what i use to mix with protein i get through 6 pints (3.5litres)

During the week I'm on a near-ketosis diet. On these days I generally only have about 16 oz (.5 liter) of (whole) milk.

On the weekend, all bets are off -- up to a gallon (3.8 liters) (or slightly over).

I get about 32 oz. with my shakes. Make sure it is skim or 1%, or you'll be getting 100% of your RDA of fat in the milk alone.

On a near-ketosis diet, fat is your friend, carbs are the enemy. In fact, ketosis or non-ketosis, you need a fair amount of fat in your diet for healthful benefits and to stoke the fat-burning fires. It's carbs that kill you because it's very easy to consume vast quantities, which ultimately convert to fat after your body uses what (small amount) it can.

I only drink about 24oz of skim a day. And I tell ya, after drinking skim for about a year and a half straight, even the 1% tastes like whole milk.

I drink about 1 litre a day.

As a teen I was consumeing about 4 litres a day. I now replaced alot of that milk protien with whey.

I also drink 24oz a day so 3cups.. 0.75 liters...of 1% milk

Do any of you think (feel) that lactose from the milk causes water retention?

Yes.. it has been known to make you look "puffy".

I think it is because of the minerals in milk rather then just the lactose.

for size and strength, and if you dont mind some bloating, but if you want to get big, you need to drink almost 2 gallons of whole milk a day........

I drink 3-4 pints a day of skim mixed with my shakes. Can't drink whole. Don't even like 1%

Hey c-dizzo,

No disrespect but where did you get this:

I know plenty of Competive Bodybuilders that don't drink milk at all.

Aren't egg protein and whey protein superior to milk. If you really want to get casein fo r it's anti-catabolic effects you can also take it in a protein powder.

Not meaning to be an ass but I would never say you "need" milk to be huge...

morning,mid morning,late morning,early afternoon,mid afternoon,late afternoon,early evening,mid evening,late evening.
drinking milk all the time!
full fat milk as well, my doctor has warned me about this, cholesterol level is extraordinarily high. but im a milk man!

I can drink a little milk with my coffee in the morn, but man the thought of drinking milk makes me want to hurl.
I guess the older you get the more you become lactose intolerant.
Funny though my 80 year old dad drinks a huge glass of whole milk for lunch every day.

hey if you want to get some real cypionate size you need to try atleast 1-2 gallons of whole a day, dont knock till you try it. Arnold used to take 100 dbol at once and then drink a gallon of milk everyday before he trained. I know my friend used to work out with him. Atleast 1 gallon.

If your cutting up don't touch it makes the skin look thick but for bulk I drink 48ozs with mrp's.

I don't drink it at all, although I do consume dairy products such as yogurt, ice cream and cheese, and of course whey protein. I personally think that milk is nasty; I consider lactose to be a shit sugar.

Actually, when Im gaining I dont really look at things like that. I plan my day around meal replacements and protien shakes. I figure out 80-90% of my needs with them, and then eat pretty much anything else I want (clean) throughout the day. Milk, chicken, beef, rice... even fruit.
But I guess that doesnt answer your question about milk, though, does it
