and told him I had friends in town for summer. I asked if they could receive mail at my home and if it would be a problem for diff people to receive at my address.

Survey says:yes its a problem . He said one of the security things the USPS has done is take back all mail not addressed to the regular residences at the given address.

He gave me a slip to fill out with all residences at the address, including my friends.

So the bottom line is, your stuff delivered to a fake name at your home may just get returned or destroyed. fyi

that's strange I receive mail from all sorts of name at my house (not for illegal activity BTW) i use it for pay internet sites where my name is public, so I use fake names so no one knows my real name.. things like that. I have no problem getting mail from other names. Maybe the post office don't care?

That is bullshit, I get all sorts of mail to different people. I even got stuff to the same fake name that had shit seized in the past. I don't think they are organized to flaf stuff. No mailman in the world is going to check names with addys, that is too much work.

Just get you fake names on some commercial mailing lists. Then mail will be coming to the house with that name all the time. USPO will just think it belongs and since its just junk mail who in the hell cares.

Mac,

Why did you ask the mailman's permission? I get all kinds of shit at my house and the guy doesn't give a fuck.

Now you just made more problems for yourself.

Matt

If your worried about it just have it sent to C/O then a different name, I asked my mailman, who happens to work out at the same gym as me, and he said that takes care of it. People have guest on extended stays, people house sitting, etc. so the post office allows this.

Ive had a mailman tell me that before. I think it is up to the mailman. I let a friend move into an apartment with me once and when the mail came I got a note form the mailman that he had the mail and would not deliver it until I put everones name down for him. The apartment I live in now, I get mail under all differant names with no problem.

Yoda's comments are spot on.
c/0 will sort your problem!
The problem would be with your mailman anyway, there aint no way that the mail sorting office is going to stop the mail going to you by checking each name against each address.
So if it don't get to you then your posty is after it!

just use a p o box then the package can be delivered to the box # and not a name... and you can check it whenever is best for you.. no cares or worries... if you get busted hey.. it was sent to the wrong box number.. not my fault...

well thats the way i do it anyway.

I've always gotten mail delivered with different names on it. I guess in apartments, people come and go so often that they don't really worry about the name that much.
