A friend of mine waas on his way to mexico from PA when he got pulled over in OH. The officer after a few moments grew suspicious and searched the car without a warrant or even asking. Needless to say, that's just plain wrong! My point? When the cop came across the $8500 my friend had on him he confiscated the money and sent my friend on his way, but not before tearing up the seats looking for drugs while my friend sat in the back of the squat car watching in horror! Yes, there's a lawsuit in the works and also the aclu might just like a shot at this one as the cop in question was black and my friend white. He had a good reason(won't say) for having the cash and driving out of state. The police officer had no probable cause to tear up the car! Imagine if he'd of gotten stopped on the wayu back! One more thing, my training partner's black so don't go thinkin' i'm a clanster or nothing! BE CAREFUL ON THE ROAD! IP: Logged |

 thats fucked up! you deff have a good case! no drugs found correct! and he was on the way down , not back! i hate fucking cops!! deff get a good lawyer! ------------------ IP: Logged |

Remember one thing though, the cop can always lie. Most of the time, good lawyer or not, a judge will believe him. Especially if your friend has any kind of prior record, which is a good chance if he's running around with over 8G's on him. All the cop has to say is he "thought" he saw some white powder of some sort on the floor, there's reasonable suspicion. Trust me, I've been through it before too. Not what you want to hear, but it happens everyday. But maybe he'll get lucky, good luck to him. IP: Logged |

From what I've heard, if the cop doesn't ask to search your car he has every right to if he has probable cause (try and prove he doesn't). If he asks and you say no, he can't without a warrant because he has no probable cause, if he did he wouldn't have asked. Maybe this was just racial profiling? Still fucking sucks though.
