I go back to the doctor tomorrow for futher tests and evaluations. Look like I really screwed my thyroid up. It is basically non-functioning at this point. Will hear more about my insulin/blood sugar levels then too. I remember reading posts when I first started that no one knew of anyone who ruined their thyroid on T3, well let me be the first. He is putting me on medication, don't know what it will be or how long I will have to take it. I am still not functioning well, but maybe that will change after tomorrow. Will keep you posted. I was doing so good to with my training and really losing, but as Mr. Guns said, it is not worth losing my life just to lose a few pounds. Keep me in your prayers.

Mrs. Guns

This is truly bad news for all of us. I feel for you Mrs. Guns, and pray that your body and mind will be resilient enough to bounce back from this. I sure miss your input on the women's board, and hope that when you're feeling MUCH better you will visit and share your story with us.

Good health soon

I feel for you. That is the reason why the FDA pulled Triax by Syntrax (Triatricol). Sometimes the thyoid actually functions better after taking T3 or it can really screw you up. Is yours overactive or underactive (assuming underactive...)? It is very common that once on thyroid medication, you are on the medication for life. I hate to be the bringer of bad news, but hopefully it won't turn out that way. Good luck and keep us posted.

Endorcine system.
Thyriod is a gland in the neck that controls metabolism by the releasure of T3 and T4 hormones. The hypothalmus is stimulated by a source indicating the need for raised levels of T hormones and it releases TRF to trigger the thyroid to release its hormones.
When synthetic thyroid hormone is administered to the body, sometimes the hypothalmus recognises the increased amounts of T hormone and shuts down output by the thyroid due to lack of need of the hormone. When administration of hormone is ceased, the thyroid remains nonfunctional.

Hope everything works out for you. Do you think your problem was caused my mis-use of T3 or using it at all? Good Luck

WOW, that is terrible news...I am so sorry to hear of it....I will keep you in my thoughts.....I was always afraid to screw around with any thyroid drugs, otc or prescription....the thyroid is a very delicate thing....It is super easy to shut down its function if doses are too high or drop off too suddenly....I wish you all the best

i wont' touch t3 for a while...i've had some but never used it. I mean if you can use winny and primo to cut, and do some cardio...it's not worth the extra 5 or so lbs.

I would rather not discuss how I know this but I have seen dozens of people with thyroid problems (even those who have been on syntrhoid for years and have had visible goiters) who are able to recover full function of their thyroid using a combination of L-tyrosine (about 1000 Mg a day if less than 120 LBS, 2,000 mg day if between 120 and 200 LBS and 3,000 MG day if over 200 LBS), Iodine, and thyroid glandulars. Also avoid rutabaga, strawberries, spinach, carrots, lettuce, peaches, beans, soybeans especially, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, cabbage, kale and kohlrabi - these contain a chemical called goitrin that suppress the thyroid. That is why ironically people will eat these low call foods to lose wieght and get fatter. I once saw a lady with a TSH of either 60 or 90 (normal is about 4), I can't remember which who was helped tremendously by this alone. That was the worst case of hypothyroidism I have ever seen. I have personally seen several really severe hypothyroid problems dissappear from this program. Sometimes they are able to get off medication entirely and sometimes they can greatly reduce the need for it. The body has amazing healing abilities.

Note : if you are of irish or American Indian descent or have had a baby you are a strong candidate for reverse T3 syndrome. In which your thyroid produces a form of T3 that is helixed in the wrong direction and is innefectual. There is a blood test (called an RT3) but one of the best ways is to take your under the tongue temperature 3 times a day for 3 days - if it is less than 98.6 you are probably suffering from this even when basic blood thyroid tests seem normal.

NoviceJuicer, thanks for the helpful info. I took T3 and was slowly bumping my doseages because I was seeing no results. This is my second and last cycle. I was up to four tabs a day the last week, apparently the wrong thing to do. I was trying to slowly decrease my doseage to finish out when all this happened. No wonder, huh? My best advice is to just stay away from the stuff. I think I rather have a liver disease from all the juice than this! I'll post the results later after I see the doc.

Thanks to everyone for the concern and help.

Mrs. TG

Not to offend anyone, but to mess around with synthroid is just dumb. When ever you start toking a medication that is specifically for a none, serious medical condition, you are really playing with fire. I have the same feelings about insulin as well.

You hear many stories of people using AS incorrectly and having problems, and now with the increasing use of synthroid and insulin, more and more cases like this are going to arise.

Before using ANYTHING like AS make sure you have plenty of information and hopefully someone who can monitor your progress and health status.

Just my "professional" opinion.

Mrs Guns..

I sure hope you get better.. I will keep you in my prayers. In the mean time, thanks for sharing your news with us, Im sure you saved some one somewhere on this board from getting jacked up off T3. I find that highly commendable, and I really hope the docs can get your thyroid to kick in again.

Well that sucks. Why does bad shit happen to good people, especially those who are striving to better themselves. Our prayers are with you!!! As for the dosage, women should never go above 3 tabs a day its just too much. I can't believe no one knew of anyone that hurt themselves using T3, I wish I was around when you posted that cause I have had the unfortunate bad luck of seeing this. And always finish the taper, even if you think its not doing any good.
