Cheap protein here. Cut back on the beer, or whatever else you don't need and get some powder.

red meat, fish, peanut butter, beans, milk are all sources of protein. You'd probably save money by buying the mix though, I just bought a can of EAS 100% whey, if I take four shakes a day (80g protein) it will last over three weeks. And it only cost 32 bucks.

Peanut butter is cheap and fairly good source of calories, protein and fat. Stay away from the major brands as they contain partially-hydradranted fat(oil). Of all the fats, this is one one the worst. Buy the all natural kind. As a plus, it does taste really good!

Prolabs has a medium level protein blend out now that is very affordable(100% prue whey is the name)....I purchased about 20 5lb jugs at a price of $19.99/ jug a few months ago from a warehouse. You get 71 servings and 22g protein/jug. It tastes good and mixes well for a whey protein blend. If you are really strapped for money you can always make your own shakes from eggs, powdered milk, peanut butter, ice cream, milk etc. As long as you don't have to watch your calorie intake you have many choices. I wouldn't suggest tuna.....I am eat 6 cans a day now and damn its bad!!!

I get protein from many sources throughout the day....milk, eggs, powder, lean beef, chicken, tuna, cottage cheese, peanut butter, cheese....whatever sounds good at the moment.

I typically use whey protein when I wake up and just after my workout (prior to sleep). It's easier to digest than soy protein and meat......so I have something to help me repair and grow instead of going into a catablic state during sleep.
