Have any of you guys ever had a torn pec? How did it feel and when did it hurt? I was doing overhead dumb-bell presses and felt a slight "twinge" in my shoulder/upper right pec. It is now 4 days later and I can't even push off of a chair with my elbows without a pain shooting through my pec. Any ideas what is up? I didn't think I could damage my pec from shoulder exercises.

I had a major pec tear. You would have absolutely known is you had suffered the same. I tore the tendon off the bone. You may have suffered a musclular tear. Your pec ties in the same area as the delts and biceps, it is possible to have caused some damage. The best advice that I can offer is to stop training and go get an MRI. This is not an injury to try and get over without getting a docs opinion. Find the very best doc that you can find that specializes in sports injuries. My first doc was an idiot and cost me about 1 year of time due to his lack of knowledge. Email me if I can help you more.

no bruising ? you still could have torn something in there , but if your pec goes you wouldnt be wondering , you would know.
( every full on rupture ive had has been accompanied by alot of deep nasty bruising )

E-mail me and tell me more about your injury. I'd be glad to help but I need more info to determine the injury. Its not very common you injure you pec in a movement like that. I could be a glenoid humoral capsule tear or any other the series of liagments that stabalize you a/c joint. Most shld pain can refer pain away from its true origin and make it very trciky to figure out your real damage. Later
