Deca works wonders for my joints. Unfortunately when you come off the pain comes back. As far as legal alternatives, glucosamine is very popular and effective for many people. I have gotten some relief from gelatin as well. IP: Logged |

Glucosamine is great for joints. You need at least 1500 mgs a day. It takes about a month to really feel the difference, but from experience, it is worth the wait. IP: Logged |

I wish I had the freak'n bottle in front of me but its at home in the fridge. It was about $20 and it works great. It has glucosamine sulfate, chondroitin sulfate, shark cartilage, and a couple of other things in it. The one I have is in liquid form. I SWEAR to you this stuff worked in like 2 days. I had terible shoulder and elbow joint pain, to the point I couldnt even lift. Even light weights hurt like hell. I only took it for like a week straight. Now I only take it when any joints act up. Ill try to remember and get you the product name and stuff and reply again tommorow. IP: Logged |

There is a difference between joint pain and the pain felt from lagging tendons and ligaments. I agree that deca is great for joint pain, but as many of you stated once the cycle is over pain returns. Tendon and ligament pain is typically caused by underdevelopment. Major muscle groups gain size and strength quickly. The tendons an ligaments are slower to gain strength. Be careful...always use strict form!! IP: Logged |

Deca does not make the joints grow. Where do you guys come up with this crap ? Deca will cause more water to be retained within the joints which will reduce the pain. Thats about all. There is no way to make a joint grow. For pain glucosamine is great and is none habit forming. You need to find out why you are having these problems. Careful stretching will prevent most of these problems and prevent further injury. BPP IP: Logged |

All of the above answers are good answers, and I would also recommend dmso applied to the joint 1 hr. before lifting. Hell, throw in some fina with it too. My friends own race horses, and no trainer races without dmso anymore. They INJECT massive amounts of the stuff so the animals feel no joint pain to slow them during a race. You would not believe the gear they put in these horses. IP: Logged |

I sometimes get a lot of pain in one of my shoulders, but the pain goes away in like a week. I get it after being stupid and not warming up and stretching and doing a heavy set. Let that be a lesson to all of you. But my misery is in my left elbow where the tricep meets the joint. I think its the tendon. It hurts everytime I do a bench or military press or any tricep workout. I wrap one of those elastic things around it all the time but the pain has been there for like almost a fucking year. Help meeeeeeeee. <<<<<<<<<EAT SLEEP LIFT>>>>>>>> IP: Logged |

Raverdude, thats where I had my elbow pain. I think I got it from do'n hamer curls w/the freak'n twist at the top. I couldnt even pick up a frying pan without it hurt'n. Look at this string tommorow, Ill post what I used that worked miracles for me. I hope it does the same for you bros. IP: Logged |

Raver, I have the same pain in the same place, and have had it for months. I think it was from heavy barbell curls, its not as bad when I use an EZ bar, but then you don't get as good results. I have been told that a lay off is the only way, but that ain't happening. I think the dmso/fina on the sore spot helps a lot. Let me know if you have a better solution. Gil, I will be looking for your miracle post also. [This message has been edited by ironmaster (edited June 06, 2000).] IP: Logged |

thanx guys but my pain is on the tricep side, not the bicep side. I have no problem doing curls. I curl 50lbs DB and I never get any pain. Its when I am doing a heavy exercise that involves triceps that I get pain, like a bench press, or military press, or worst of all: behind head tricep DB extensions. <<<<<<<<<EAT SLEEP LIFT>>>>>>>> IP: Logged |

Raverdude, I had the same problem, it hurt to the touch. I would just rest my arm on the hard armrests in my buddy's Jeep and I would grimace from the pain. You need to take the glucosomine but more importantly you need to attack the cause. I strengthened my forearms and grip and now my elbows are pain free. I believe it was mainly my grip. I would do tri and chest exercises and I wouldn't even grip the bar, I would just have it balanced there. I formed the bad habit early and paid for it dearly. Oh yeah, by growing your joints you mean strenghthen right? [This message has been edited by shmucko (edited June 06, 2000).] IP: Logged |

I hate them, but FRESH RED CHERRIES and DECA works wonder. An old powerlifter told me about the Cherries and said they have some type of lube in them. I did not believe him due to the acid in them, but the soreness did go away after a couple of days. DECA for sure IP: Logged |

Make you joints grow????????What the hell kind of question is that. You can strengthen or increase joint lubrication through meds or supplements but you don't make them grow. Damn people read you old anatomy books. IP: Logged |

Flaxseed oil and glucosamine have been proven to help. But take a look at your workout too maybe it's time to drop the weight and go for hiher reps too...sometimes it burns a lot more and it gives your joints time to recover....Try partial reps too that can help as well.. IP: Logged |
