Is it possible? I do abs everyday and want to know if this is bad or not. Thanks. IP: Logged |

I think three times a week would probably be better. If they're sore wait another day and if they aren't sore the day after you work them, you probably should be doing something different. All muscles need rest....just my $.02. IP: Logged |

Your muscles need rest to grow.. but you don't want your abs to grow. You want to burn the layer of fat off them so you can see a six-pack. I don't see a problem with training abs every day. Just my opinion. D. IP: Logged |

I train them 3-4 times per week. A lot of people train them everyday and get good results. I would vary the exercises and not do the same ones 2 days in a row. IP: Logged |

Well with this i have to disagree, your abs are a muscle, sure there may be different properties to them etc etc... but they're still a muscle, for me low reps high intesity and give them enought time to rest, so i train them at the most 2x a week. IP: Logged |

I agree and disagree w/E2. They are a muscle, so yes, you must rest them. But, unlike other muscles they do seem to recover faster. I train them 3X per week. Mon, Wed, & Fri, only one day of high intensity (adding weight, medicin ball, holding plates etc.). If they are still sore (like Bossman said) even after not training them after 2 days then go ahead a waite one more day. You dont wanna push them to hard or youll just over train them. M&F had a pretty good spread on working abs last mth. See if you can find a copy of it. But most important, rest them. And thats my .02. IP: Logged |

It's kinda interesting you talk about abs. I'm currently training them EOD. I do 100 crunches. I was thinking about something more powerful. So I'll go with the plates ! Dark Stalker IP: Logged |
