has anyone ever had one of those 2 or 3 month long lasting neck strains?? well i hurt my neck doing squats about 2 months ago and my neck never seems to get better..always seem to re-aggravate it when i sleep or move the wrong way..has anyone ever had this type of injury before and how was it resolved??also should i attempt to go to the gym and work with light weights??

I too have had neck strains but none lasted quite that long.. I'd take acouple weeks off completely. If you still have pain after that, go to a doctor.

Without knowing which specific muscles are involved it is hard to know what exercises to tell you to avoid or to do. Some exercises, and good stretching will help. The best way to perform exercises when trying to get over an injury is negatives (Very slow on the relaxation phase).

I had something like that before. I found out that my crunches were causing it. I was putting my hands behind my head and pulling my neck when the crunches got tough. If squats are causing it then switch to leg presses for a while. Also have someone watch you workout to see if they can pick up on someting else.
