![]() ![]() ![]() I read that transplant patients are given steroids to suppress their immune functions. Are they talking about d-bol, deca, sustanon etc.??? IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() hum, no. What you are talking about is not anabolic steroids. yes, they do give something to transplant patients so as to prevent their immune system from attacking the transplant tissue. They have to take it for life. I wouldent think it was corticosteroids? I got a prescription for that, but they do have an effect of supressing the t-cells from attacking non-recognizable protien sequence-like as in hand exzema(SP?). IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Anabolic steroids have varying effects on immune function. 5-Androstenediol and DHEA have been shown to enhance immune function, while other steroids have been shown negatively and positively affect certain immune modulators, such as IFN, certain lymphokines, etc. Corticosteroids are given to suppress the immune system. Prednisone is the most common one used. IP: Logged |
