I have been doing high pulls for only 2 months but they are probably one of my favorite exercises. You set the weight on the ground like you were going to do deadlifts. You then bend over with an arched back and grab the bar with a double overhand grip(both palms facing the body). You then explode up pulling the bar to high chest or neck level. This is also a great overall strength exercise as it trains the central nervous system also(ie.increase in speed/power). These are a little bit harder than a power clean so choose your weight accordingly. This movement allows you to use much more weight than would be possible with upright rows, equalling more massive traps. Give them a try! IP: Logged |

I used to love to do those,clean and jerks and snatchs.I find due to bilateral rotator cuff tears I have to modify it to half way between a high pull and bent over rows.manana... IP: Logged |
