![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I'd go with a narcotic painkiller if you can get it,doesn't taking ant-prostaglandins defeat the purpose? IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Tiny People aren't answering because not very many of us know that much about prostaglandins beyond the standard profile info. It's relatively new and not that many people have extensive experience with it like the AS. Don't take it personal and I hope the pain subsides and it will all be worth it in the end. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() There are prostaglandins and there are prostaglandins. SOme prosta glandins are anti-inflammatory (Omega 3 fatty acids like fish oils), and some can be both pro and anti inflammatory (Omega 6 fatty acids like Borage oil) and of course some prostaglandins are just pro-inflammatory. Aspirin to work requires certain anti-inflammatory prostaglandins to work. If you run out of these chemical catalysts the NSAID's (non steroidal anti-inflammatories) will not work. Try some EPA/DHA Omega 3, fish oils with the apsirin if you are going to continue with NSAIDs. But consider the risks of NSAIDS. Tylenol is the # 1 cause of adult liver failure, and the leading cause of children needing liver transplants. NSAIDS killed a little over 16,000 osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis patients in 1998 (thats not total deaths - just those with those 2 forms of arthritis taking NSAIDS as prescribed). Compared to roughly 15,000 people from AIDS, 20,000 people from all forms of leukemia and 4,400 women from cancer of the cervix. NSAID prescriptions result in one death from gastrointestinal bleeding alone for each 9,21o scrips...and one hospitalization for each 921 scrips written (a total of 76,000 hospitalizations per year). 13 times as many NSAID users will develop a history of heart disease compared to non-NSAID users. (references: Archives of Internal Medicine 2000:160 and Annals of Internal Medicine 1997 , 127)
Lastly drink plenty of water - the build up of certain chemical by products will cause the continuation of pain syndromes.. Wash out the toxins and feel better. SOme people feel better after drinking a glass of water to wash down some pain pills , but it may just be the water that does it. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Dude, add the fish oils for one week. You certainly have nothing to lose..... I mean the NSAID's aren't working for you at all now. Let us know how it goes. Do not take NSAID's and enzymes like Bromelain. Both are potent blood thinners that inhibit platelet formation - too much blood thinning equals increased risk of stroke and hemorrhage. Also chronic type II,III,IV, (IgA, IgM, IgG,) and C2, C3 complement allergies can cause contstant pain. Dr. Theiron Randolph in Chicago many many years ago documented how 80% of arthritis patients will recieve dramatic reduction in their painful inflammation within 1 week of being off foods they are allergic too. These chronic allergies can only be detected through blood tests - the more familiar, and often faulty skin scratch tests only detect Type I (IgE, acute) mediated allergies which usually manifest themselves as sinus problems. The other 6 chronic chronic allergies can manifest as histamine mediated inflammation of ANY tissue other then sinus....very commonly musculoskeletal. IP: Logged |
