Hey brother, I hear your pain and my condolances on her passing, but sunlight causes cancer, polluted water causes cancer, pestesides in our food chain causes cancer, freon indirectly causes cancer by destroying the ozone layer, my point is everthing causes cancer, our meat supply in this country is loaded with 'roids lke finaplex and a whole host of animal roids, so if you want to reduce your risk you will have to give up a lot of things you enjoy. No one gets out of here alive, it's sad to lose a loved one, and harder still to continue on, but your mom would want to be happy and live your life to the fullest. I'm not saying you should continue, that's a personal choice we all have to make...Best wishes Bro, my deepest condolances at her passing, it won't be the last time for you to loose some one dear to you, thats a fact of life bro...

Man that is awful! You know there is somebody around this board 24hrs if you need somebody to speak to. The roid cancer question. Seem like you were the one taking 6cc's at a time. maybe you should consider slowing it down. i am sure you are aware of primrose oil and milk thistle. My personal belief is juice can speed up the growth of cancer that you aready have, but does not create it, except in heavy doses of A-50 like the man said in the above post. I also think fresh open air causes cancer to spread at a rapid pace. I think oxygen in the blood does not, but when they cut into somebody that has cancer and they do not remove it all the are normally gone within six months. Again sorry to here about you mother. Im very sorry about your mother. I wish you the best in all honesty. I can maybe shed some light on your thoughts about taking steroids though. As someone stated above, almost anything in our environment can cause cancer. But with this very trematic event that just occured in your life I can honestly say, maybe steroids are not your priority right now. Psychologically when you take them, you will constantly be reminded of cancer and your mom while you are on them. Even though cancer is a very unlikely risk with AS use, at this time, it might not be healthy for you mentally to take them, for the reason stated above, and the other psychological consequences that CAN possibly occur from AS use. So please take time right now and decide what is best for you and know that we are here to help you. IP: Logged |

a 50 might cause cancer on the liver, but the patients who got liver cancer were taking like 3 or 4 a50 pills a day for like 4 months (they were AIDS patients). Most of us take them (if we take A50) at 1 pill a day, for 4 weeks max...that's 2-3 pills less a day for 3 months less....so the risks for us are quite low ------------------ IP: Logged |

Cancer is in all of us. It is just a matter of time when it will manifest itself. Some people never get cancer even after smoking for years. Not too many, but some. What I am trying to say is that I believe you will get it regardles what you take if you are ment to get it. I'm not going to live my life of fear to accomplish anything just because of a disease we have no way of controlling. Both sets of my grandparents dies from cancer, yet my father and cousin used steroids for years and have out lived all the smokers in my family. My friend Duane who lost his mom six years ago has also used a lot of roids, yet is healthier than anyone who has made it to his age in his family. My friends dad died last year from cancer, and he worked out, never smoked....., so until I see all the yesteryear bodybuilders dying like an epidemic, I will not let speculation deter me from reaching my goals. I am very sorry about your mother. It's a sad part of life we will ALL HAVE TO FACE at some point. We live and we die.....faith is what keeps me focused. Again, I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. Maybe some day we will have a cure. IP: Logged |

Bill Roberts made a statement awhile back (can't remember if it was on Meso or misc.fitness.weights) saying that it was an estrogenic metabolite of certain steroids that was linked to hepatotoxicity. Possibly the use of aromatase inhibitors or Nolvadex would help prevent this. Another problem is prostate cancer in men. Steroids would certainly speed up this process, but not cause it. I have never seen any studies showing mutagenicity or carcinogenicity of steroids. IP: Logged |

Sorry to hear about your loss... To all of those worried about Cancer being caused by steroidss... well when i was 11 years old (now 20) I found out I had cancer, I had a tumor so large in my chest it was pressing up against my lung causing a sharp pain and a hard time breathing. The medicine they give you bloats you, makes your hair fall out, weakens you. I feel that my body from 6 months of chemotherapy is still not the same, some 9 years later. I still find myself to be weaker compared to most people. I've made the decision to try steroids, and I'm not really worried about it. I was the healthiest kid then out of the blue it happens, just goes to show you never can tell what's around the next corner.. IP: Logged |

Alot of things can cause cancer. My sister had skin cancer, just cause she's outside alot. Im not going to change my mind about AS because it has a very, very , very little chance of causing cancer. If that was the case, I would stay indoors all summer too. NO FLAME INTENDED THOUGH: My grandfather had laryngeal cancer, and now he has no voice box. My sister was treated for skin cancer, she was fine though because they caught it early. My great grandmother died of cancer. I fucking hate this disease.

sorry about your mom. I've heard doctors say (and it sounds logical to me) that AS doesn't cause cancer, but it does cause things to grow faster. Cancerous cells have nuclei, are composed of amino acids, etc., just like non-cancerous cells. If you cause cells (in general) to grow faster, the "growth characteristics" do not confine themselves to healthy cells, in other words, the "benefit" from AS does not differentiate between good and bad cells - it helps them all to grow. That's what I've heard anyway. IP: Logged |
