![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I have acid reflux caused by a hiatal hernia. It's not the type of hernia people normally think about. Hiatal hernia means part of your stomach lining has moved up into your esophagus and the acid burns causing reflux and ulcers. If this is what you have Prevacid works well. there is also an operation they can do that I'm told is fairly uncomplicated. If I stay away from coffee, fried foods, beer and wine, I'm OK. Hard liquor is OK for some reason. But I've never had a problem with protein and the Dr. never mentioned to stay away from it. Try experimenting with what bothers you and what doesn't. For instance maybe meat will cause problems but milk and eggs won't. Good luck bro. It's not a lot of fun but you should be able to work through it. Don't be afraid to ask the Dr. questions. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Hey bro, I've got acid reflux also. The doc told me the same thing. I tried what he said and it only got worse. Now, I keep my carbs low and stay away from coffee, soft drinks, tomatoes, etc. and I rarely ever have heartburn. See if your doc will script you some prilosec also, it works great when you need it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() thanks, i think the staying away from protein(at least alot) was for the inflammed bowel. hopefully i can still get sometype of pump from the gear IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The gear should still work fine, cause it sounds like you were on a cutting cycle anyway. Would gear adversly affect his health problems, Conan? [This message has been edited by ironmaster (edited May 30, 2000).] IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Remember to get plenty of fiber. You're supposed to work up to 35g/day. Dont try to take in that much at first though. I'm only 30 and have diverticulitis. If I dont get enough fiber either from food or supps my colon swells up and nothing gets through. Mrp's and protein shakes DO cause GI probs due in part to lack of fiber content. IP: Logged |
