I seem to always look bloated when I drink protein shakes. It only happens with the shakes, not the bars. Have you guys found anything that will keep you from looking bloated? Im getting sick of chicken-

Dude, if you want to gain mass you got to spend 16 hours a day bloated. Those bars don't have enough kcals in them for a meal. If you're going to the beach or something, wait awhile after you drank a shake. Otherwise, suck it up and get used to it!

I lift weights to look good, not to look like a fat bastard. Maybe the shakes I had were just low grade, I forget the name-

Oh yeah, I eat plenty. I just take the shakes for the protein.

Try Designer Protein or ProLab. Don't mix them with milk and use less water. Also this is the Anabolic discussion board, anyway.

If you could eliminate the milk from your shakes, it could help with the bloating. I experience the same problem.

Also a little secret that super models use:
Never drink from a straw as you will also suck in more air, thus creating that "bloated look". And I know how slim and trim you want to look in those bikini shoots, Mr. T!!!

Hope it helps.

Tex:
Best laugh I had all day picturing myself in a bikini! I am a little girly about it, I just hate getting fat. Maybe I should ask the same question on the womens board-

If you can handle the milk, try a couple of glasses along with the protein bar. The shakes make me feel bloated too. But the milk and bars are OK.

Its most likely a lactose intolerance issue. Most people are at least a little intolerant to lactose. Try dropping the milk and using more water (bloat is not usually related to being "full"). Also you could try a digestive enzyme like coQ10 or probiotics to keep the digestive system healthier.

Try Pro Blend 55 by Human Developement Tech. It has 55g of time-released protein, 270 cal, 1.5g of fat and 7g of carb. The best tasting protein I ever had and I dont get bloated from it.

I think monster hit the nail on the head. Sounds like a lactose problem to me. No milk and but only MRP's that are lactose free. Try this for two weeks and you will most likely see a difference. I did when I got off MetRx & Myoplex.

If protien diesn't have to do with the anabolic board then what does. This is the building blocks for our whole muscle structure and is definitely within the realms of a relevant question on this board. just my .02.

Try mixing 8oz. Lactaid milk, 8oz. water, 1 scoop Whey powder and 1 scoop Soy powder. This solved the bloating problem for me, gives you 50 grams of protein, about 280 calories, practically no fat or carbs, and a great mix of amino acids.
