I'm at the gym talking to another member I know who happens to be a nurse. Whenever I encounter someone in the medical profession at a gym, I try to steer the conversation to fitness then bodybuilding and then AS, to get a "professional" (term used loosely) opinion.

Anyway, she and I were talking and I mentioned AS. Immediately she gets that scowl on her face - you all know the look.

I listened to her mention Lyle Alzado and a bunch of other inaccuracies about AS.

When she was done with her lecture, I was saddened but not surprised. The ignorance of the medical communtiy remains staggering - and many doctors are just as bad if not worse.

Why am I mentioning this? Two reasons: 1. One should be able to expect medical people to know a little more about the body, and 2. if AS are ever to be legalized, the minds we have to change are the medical minds, not the politicians. Politicans just consult their advisors evrey time they make a decision anyway.

I know what you mean.. But most people are sheep, not leaders so don't expect the medical community to jump up in arms for something they are taught will cause more harm than good. The Medical community thinks that the side effects of roids out weigh the benefits (getting huge). My mom is a nurse, if I told her I planned to use A/S she would freak. I think they should be legal but controlled, and administered with a prescription. It makes no sence that I cant control what drugs I chose to administer to myself.

Subject came up around my wife g/f and man did I have to hear all the bs. Tumor, cancer, had to throw Lyle in there. It went on and on. People watch TV and take everything they see as truth. Its the all time mind game. People need to questiom everything and learn for themselves thru reliable resources. When you ask these people to be specific as to why this stuff happens they never answer. Go figure.

I agree Matt...sadly though, most Doctor's leave school with one thought on their minds....MONEY!!! Very few would even consider a prescription for AS, much less know anything about it......sad but true Bro!!

Dude, she was only a nurse. They just know how to stick you and little shit like that.
You can't flame on docs. They know plenty about AS. They all know pretty much everything about Test, and most steroids are androgenic, SO! I mean if you get into details. Much remember a lot of the shit we got is for animals.
Two be a nurse you just need to spend two years in a bullshit ass community college. Why would they need to know about AS?

yeah bro,
i go to a community college(proudly) hehe. and i have seen the caliber of individuals shooting for thier nursing degree(is it degree or certification). no flame intended but they are cute....thats it. i also work on medical equipment and i know they have monkey paws for fingers judging by the condition some of the keypads come back to me are in. hehe.
i would try to hit up a doc and see what the average doc knows. thats the test. the docs ultimately will shape what the nurses may or may not know. im searching for an unsuspecting doc to get into a conversation with. then ill have fun.

heh heh

but i hear you about the stereotyped arguement that they give for AS.

yes, the masses are asses. And what i have learned over time is that you can't change people's minds. So i just let them think steroids will kill them, and i'll be big and get all the attention.

i tried talking to a couple of pharmacists i know and they always say the same thing..."steroids are bad for you" or "i dont think youll benefit from taking steroids"..HAHAHA...iv even talked to doctors and specialists and they always down play steroids...i think as a whole the medical community has been taught that roids are taboo and by endorsing them they would be looked down on so you never really get an honest answer..just what their med books say..they will never take whatever our knowledge of AS is seriously...were just a bunch of dumb BB..LOL

Poop - she was nasty looking.

Bros, I know she was just a nurse, but the responses are the same among many docs. And nurses spend a lot of time around docs, so you can get somewhat of a flavor of their thoughts.

I have to disagree with the statement "docs know all about AS and test". They may have formal education on the endocrine and reproductive systems, but my experience (I am no newbie!) has been that many docs are woefully misinformed.

I am so surprised how uneducated people are about steroids. i just talked with a kid and his father about HGH and Steroids. I was amazed at how uneducated on the topic they were. A word to newbies on the board...research research research.

Knowledge is key to life.

actually outside of the well known side effects that we have all experianced,i found that most doctors are educated only in medicinal results. when riding with the fire department i talked to alot of docs.i found that the real old ones used to administer sauce to patients when it was acceptable years ago.the other doctors realy had no clue
outside of what most of us here already know.
i guess what im saying is i would take the advice of a long time user before a doctor.i already know what my risks are,but the vets could give me alot more info when needed.

It's just one more example of the power that the media has to influence peoples opinions. Whats the one thing most people do everyday? Either read the local paper or watch the news, or both. When a message is reinforced day in and day out, in most peoples minds it becomes the truth. Look at all the latest bullshit about gun control. Will it work? Is heroin off the streets? Do people not rob banks? Do people not rape?
Do politicians not extort money? My point is, the laws are not enforced. Punishment is linient and the court system is a joke. Someone here recently got 5 years for kidnapping and rape and will probably serve no more than 3 of the 5. If much stronger penalties were handed out for serious crimes it only makes sense that people would be detered from committing them. If the penalty for rape was life instead of 5 years. What would be the stronger deterrent. Its common sense. But the liberal media molds opinions in their own self interests and for some reason they have decided against responsible use of steroids as a right for Americans. I guess hype sells more papers.

believe me...MDs and PharmDs are very educated about the biochemical and phisiological mechanisms behind endocrinology (including AS). Nurses on the other hand probably wouldnt know what the name nandrolone is let alone what it does. Its just that the medical community (most) have it etched in their heads that AS use is harmful to the body and associate it only with elicit drug use. It is looked down upon by their colleages if an interest were shown regarding AS. Believe me this mind set is changing slowly but it will take time. Luckily there are a select few knowledgeable educated health care professionals out there willing to stick their neck out and advocate AS's use.

Hey bro, although I haven't spoken to any doctors or nurses about AS, but there are two doctors in my gym that take it. They aren't huge, but a pretty decent size. Now, I don't want to get stereotypic to say that they are big and doctors so they juice, but a few other guys that I workout with know them well enough to know they juice. So, now I just have to get tight with them!!

It's actually scary how many people accept what they are told, taught, or have heard without actually experimenting or formulating their own opinions on the subject through experience. Blind faith is the religion of the weak and feeble minded. So sad!!!!!

AS should be legalized, but only prescribed and used with common sense. I think the medical community needs to be educated, and so do some As users. There is no need for some drugs, like Anadrol-50, that stuff is just crap that kills people, but there are countless others that are harmless. Also....not only the medical community needs to be educated, but so do some users. There are fucking morons shooting themselves with outrageous amounts of juice for incredibly long periods of time, then getting some pretty fucked up problems. It's dip shits like this who give steroids and steroid users a bad name.
