I tried the search on this and found nothing. Do you need to show ID to get a US Postal Box? I was told you had to put it in your real name. Then, the post office will only put mail address to that name in the box. How can you use a fake name when you order then??? Someone please advise! IP: Logged |

I have a box with a private mailer and the postal regulations even for them are outrageous. The manager there told me that USPS is making it harder for the independents to stay in business. To get a private box you must show 2 forms of ID, provide your true address, and sign some gov't forms. For a box at the post office you can call them to get the specifics. But the requirements are pretty much the same. I think the cost is higher. I'm still trying to figure out how the bros. get boxes with false ID's. Maybe one will respond. IP: Logged |

Keep in mind that if you use a fake ID you can be charged with mail fraud, a federal offense. IP: Logged |

You must show 2 IDs and sign two govt. forms to get P.O. box. If you show fake IDs, you open yourself to even more trouble, especially if they catch you receiving gear to it. The secret is in the packaging. If your guy knows how to package things, then you are not likely to have a problem. I myself receive to a P.O. box for the sole reason of privacy from my other family members. Some things that I get in my P.O. box I dont want delivered to my front door. IP: Logged |

Okay, so if you have to use your correct name and show ID to open a box, can you still have things delivered to the box in a different name? Or only to the name the box is registered? IP: Logged |

Get the box in your name unless you have a friend who will put it in their name and just give the key to you. Or, pay some sap a few bucks to go in and get a box for you. IP: Logged |

If you don't mind being kinda slimy....get some guy that owes you money, and thinks you are still friends.... tell him you are ordering some vitamin supplements which are sensitive to heat. you are going to beout of town a couple of days and can't afford for them to sit out in the sun and lose potency. You are not sure when they are going to arrive....would he take them for you. If they come through thank him and tell him you would like to do it again. If they are snagged.... pull a Bill Clinton - deny deny deny IP: Logged |

Why go through all that shit. get the P.O box in your name. Mail the shit with your P.O #. But put a differnt name on the package. IP: Logged |

The post office is giving people shit about packages addressed to anyone other than that assigned to the box. I'm wondering if they will deliver it to the box if the package only has a box# on it, or if this will set off flags at customs? IP: Logged |

Yoda, one of the forms you sign when you take out a box asks who will receive mail at that box besides yourself. Write down that some employees, club members, roommates whatever, will be authorized. Then send mail to the box with different recipient names to see if there is any problems. If it gets delivered...you are set. Boxes are nice in city post offices cause you can check at 3am or what ever. Easy to tell if anyone is watching. Never use fake ID. Turns it into a bigtime federal beef. IP: Logged |

dont get busted for mail fraud. this is what you should do, get a po box in your name. have your source mail it to box holder. do not get your name put on the package. dont get it sent to a fake name because that can be mail fraud. IP: Logged |
