Do you guys like the the look of the pros.
now.
Back in the day, they looked great, but now
you got bloated guts, oiled up muscles,
pionty elbows, just to name a few things.
It seems like it's not about quality anymore
but just size.
All in all you realy can't compare the two
it's a total different sport, but if i had
to pick a standard to go on it would be
old school boys for me.
What do you guys pref?

individuality is gone as far as bodybuilding is concerned today. it sucks. yet i like many others are working toward that goal of being what i think i should be and how i want to look. it is a double-edged sword.

if i could look like any bodybuilder, it would be Arnold...no bloating, just quality muscle. Even the wrestlers today are way too bloated.

OLD SCHOOL, It's so competitive now-a-days that pros take shit all the time and everything they can get their hands on to. You can tell it's pushing their bodies behond natural levels.
But It's always cool to see a big ass FREAK like Marcus Ruhl!

I am just curiously waiting to see the effects of all the shit today's pros take in 10-20 years. I wish them the best, and with medical advances I hope what problems they encounter will not be serious and/or life threatening. Personally I think they all look terrible, except for Flex, Dex, and Shawn. Bodybuilding is about having the nicest physique, not packing as much mass on your frame until your heart can no longer efficiently pump blood. I hope bodybuilding's standards go back to the old school...those gys looked much better and will live normal healthy lives because they did not over do the juice.

The old school symetrical Frank Zane look is definitely more appealing to the general public, and the ladies. But then the freaky look of todays pros amazes me, also. Yates in his prime was a beast without peers.

Old school? Those guys have tiny legs. Their legs do not go with their upper body at all. BB is all about size and quality. Todays pros have both. Have you look at Arnolds legs? they are bird legs. Anyone with a physique like Arnold in today contest, he'll get kicked off stage.

Don't get me wrong, the guy has awesome pec bi's!!

It's called "proportion"!!!
Dude now-a-days can bearly walk cause of those huge quads.
I think the game was better back in the day.
like someone said upthere. They just pack as much muscle on 'til their heart's blow

What would the old schoolers look like if they had access to todays goodies and techniques? It's apples and oranges for me and I can appreciate both. If I were given the chance to select a physique for myself out of any pro old or new it would be Flex the night he won the USA's. I would like to see the over/under 200 brought back to the sport, that seemed more appropriate.

There is nothing but the training.

If you think the sport has gotten out
of hand now; just wait - I'm posititive
that there will be ways to actually alter
or enhance existing genetic codes and
basically create mutants (for lack of a
better word). As far as the question, I
definitely appreciate both physiques -
bodybuilding simply advances with science.
