![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I'm at the gym by 5 every weekday for my workout. What do ya'll eat/drink in between waking up and lifting to give you an energy boost. I have been drinking a protein shake right before my workout and that has helped some but it doesn't seem to be quite enough. Any good suggestions on what I should do? I don't want to be working out on a full stomach but I don't want my stomach growling at me during reps. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I am at the gym by 4am, I don't eat anything before I go. I do take ripped fuel, some people don't like it, but it works for me. I have a shake as soon as I get home. Good luck ------------------ IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The best thing to do is carb up the night before your early morning workout....before bed eat some rice, pasta, or rice cakes....in the morning a protein shake is fine, drink some orange juice, maybe have a banana....the important thing is to have some slow burning carbs in your system as fuel, so eat up the night before. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I agree. I'm at the gym at 6:30 and I carb-up the night before. I also have 1 scoop of whey and 1 scoop of Ultimate Orange. Wait 20 minutes to 45 minutes and you're up for it! IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Guess it depends on your goals....if you want to burn fat, go with thermogenics on an empty stomach.....but if you want to add muscle, I would have a myoplex and some oatmeal before I left the house. Just my thoughts. delts ------------------ IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I get there by 5:30 and I don't have anything before I go. As soon as I get home I drink a Critical Mass by American Bodybuilding. It has about 38 grams of protein and some carbs. I add creatine and glutamine to it. Then when I get to work I drink a protein drink with 40 grams of Whey isolate. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() You're going to think I'm crazy, but here's a few things I do that seem to work for me. I try to avoid a huge dump of simple sugars right before I hit it ( I work out at the same time. Sucks don't it?). Here's what I dump down the ole' hatch: If I have enough time - 8 egg whites w/ 2yolks (scrambled), 1 bagel w/o anything on it. If I have no time - A big ass handful of deli turkey and a bagel. Some caffeine and a ton of water with it and I'm ready to hit up the gym. I like to get a larger than normal amount of salt with my preworkout meal because of the water retention. I get much better pumps and I feel waaaay fuller, especially in the morning when I normally feel pretty flat and dead. I try to avoid things that I call "fake food" like protein drinks and bars. For some reason I always feel better when I eat real food, even for post workout meals. I even gained a couple o' pounds of good mass when I quit using supplement foods. I'm no dietian, and I'm sure there's plenty of supplement companies out there that would say I'm full of shit, but real food always gets my vote over supplent foods. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 5:30 guy myself, but I can't eat anything before hand. It's a great fat burner to w/o on an empty stomach. Besides, if I eat first I'll puke in the squat rack or something. I drink coffee sometimes, and I always drink at least 1/2 a gallon of water while I'm working out. Have a huge meal when you're done. ------------------ IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I am there by 6. If I eat protein before I go, I feel sluggish. After some experiments I found that cream o wheat is good because its easy on the gut! ------------------ IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() If I eat protein or anything, I usually will feel sluggish and tired...... I love using Ultimate Orange for a morning workout; It really gets me awake and ready to rock IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 4:15 I start my 3 miles. ECA stack then hop into sweats and grab the dog. By the time I really wake up, I am a mile and a half from home so I have to go home to go to work on time. It is just such a habit now I dont know any other way. No eating before but the body will adapt, so what ever you choose, just give it some time. Bunny IP: Logged |
