I was hoping to get get some input from some of you BB vets out there on my food intake.
First a little background, I am 32 and have been lifting on and off since high school. I am 195lbs, about 10 of that is fat. I am now self employed so I have more time to devote to a regular work out schedule and I am trying to lose some of the fat and gain some more muscle. Here is my diet as of two weeks ago:
8am Metrx mrp, 2 Xenadrine
11am 1 chicken breast
2pm 1 can tuna, 2 Xenadrine
5pm half potato, vegetables,lean meat
8pm 1 chicken breast
11pm whey protien in orange juice.
Lifting days are every other day. 20 min cardio on off days.
Please critique, any knowledgeable input would be appreciated. Thanks

Your highest carb intake should be in the morning or mid day.You should be drinking
a Whey protein shake with every meal.except of course not with the MRP.This will give you a
extra 20-25 grams of protein with each meal.
You should be taking atleast your bodyweight
in grams of protein if not more.In your case
you should shoot for atleast 200 grams a day.
Without that your gains will be very minamal.
Keep carb intake to a low after about 6 or 7.
If your not already taking Glutamine then
you should start taking about 3-4000 mg a day.You should also be drinking about 12-14
glasses of water a day.Do that Train hard
& intense & you will see improvement.

He's right you might want to pyramid your carbs highest to lowest throughout the day. I also think you should increase them. Your 2nd and third meal add about 50gms of carbs if you can. Your protien should be as said around 200gm/day.

O.K. so my goal is to eat at least my body weight in grams of protien everyday. But what is the optimum total amount of carbs I should be taking in each day?

here's my 2 cents, Im 186 and take in about 300g of protein. 1/3 in whole foods. Carbs (in my opinion) depends on you and your body, also depends on how much you work out. True though, highest carb intake in the am, I dont take any in after about 3 pm. Most carbs intake form me is on off (non-lifting days) at about 200, no lie. My body loves to store carbs. Play around with them and find what fits you. Lots of water to bro, other than that, MAKE THE FUK'N BAR BEND!!!

it would probably be good to get an actual bf% analysis to give yourself something to work off of.... By your estimate you are less than 5% body fat..... if that were true i wouldent change a damm thing

about carbs i don't any after 7 i have to eat some to keep my metabolism up so i keep burning fat because if u don't eat enough your metabolism will get lower and then it kind of just makes you eat less. I wouldn't hit a protein shake at each meal, because that shit is expensive and it can get old tasting quick. just try to get around 40-50g of protein i always eat a protein shake before bed...like 8:30 and in the morning
