well since most shakes i know of have at least 28 grams or so of carbs you should eat steaks, egg whites, meat, meat, meat, ... i do not know if all those shakes will cause any problems though. let me know if you find a good protein shake with fewer than 10 carbs though per serving.
peace

I have almost lived off shakes with good results. I would have about 4 shakes with 1-2 meals.

The only problem I see is lack of fiber. You could easily supplement with just about any whole wheat or bran cereal. Or you could just drink about 3 servings of metamucil.

Depends if you like getting backed up or not. All shakes and no solid food means no bowel movements, which leads to *colon cancer*. Believe me, not taking a healthy dump on a daily basis is not a good thing. Definately make sure you get some fiber.

my trainer says that for some reason solid food makes you much harder than meal replacers, especially meat.
why? i don't know. i would think that aminos are aminos and i would also think that shakes get absorbed easier so it would be better for you.
i've heard this a lot, though.

There is no substitute for food. Your body needs all that it can assimilate from real sources. Protein shakes are supplements, being they are meant to supplement your diet.

Just consume your carbs early in the day, and cut your calories, by eating only whole protein foods throughout the day.

WCP

I agree with E2.I've tried it on a couple occassions and both times i got sick as shit and lost strength. For some reason you just need solid food.

Try it, let the rest of us know what happens. I like Designer Protein, serving size is 1 scoop 92 cal. 1g fat (sat. 0.6g) carbs 3.2g (sugar less than 0.9g) protein 17.5g. 1 shake = 3 scoops for me. I suspect youll be week as hell though. Probably cranky to.

I just did something like that myself, but I did eat solid food. I had a total of one dozen egg whites a day along with my mrp bars and protein shakes. Worked really well for me. Gotta do lots 1+ hours a day of cardio plus i was doing low weights really high reps. lost 8 1/2 lbs. in two weeks. Good luck bro.
