I've read in a few places that some hormones can "displace" others. After working out, there are several "desirable" hormones that are circulating in your blood stream. If you eat immediately after working out, does insulin wipe out test and gh? Is there any validity to hormone heirarchy? IP: Logged |

if you eat after a workout, the same thnigs that raise test and GH during a workout are also decreasing insulin because during execise muscles don't need insulin to "carry" in the glucose and aminos, that's why exercise is important for diabetics .from what i've read the hormones should be elevated for quite a while after exercise and insulin should work together with to provide an "anabolic" effect.I guess that's why guys who use extra insulin with GH and AS get bigger with it.Manana... im a bit confused, eating after a workout DECREASES? insulin? a high carb/protein meal post workout serves to spike insulin to replenish glycogen stores and increase protein uptake. as for whether it negates test or not, im not sure. but it is said that gh releases are during workout and sleep. ------------------ IP: Logged |

From what I have read, after working out, a high GI meal will increase insulin levels and GH remains elevated also. While exercising, insulin is ihibited because non-insulin dependant glucose transporters (NIDGT)are increased. The two hour window after training deals with the fact that these NIDGT's are still elevated and the insulin spike allows for greater glucose uptake. Also, insulin increases the degradation and excretion of SHBG, so more testosterone should become available during this time. IP: Logged |
