I apparently suffer from insomnia, and am relatively certain that this is my biggest holdup in making gains (poor recovery).

I desperately need to find a supplement that I can use on an ongoing basis so I can recover.

I currently use ZMA (It did actually help me sleep the first night I used it).

I also use a valerian combo, but I seem to get used to anything new very quickly.

Melantonin appeare to have absolutely no effect whatsoever.

Any help would be deeply appreciated. I am on the Mexican border but I would prefer to avoid anything that would create more problems than it solves.

I understand your grief. I have tried everything from insomnia medicine to parkinson's and seizure medications. Legal, illegal I have tried them all to combat the sleeplessness. The only thing that gives me any relief and it is only minor relief is Valium. It's not good for you or to take for long periods of time but I do what I have to do. Don't drink, don't use caffeine, don't smoke or use tobacco. From a fellow insomniac, good luck. By the way juice can complicate the issue. Not that that stopped me.

Go to an herb store and ask them about Valerian. It'll put you out nicely and you'll be rested upon awakening.

Remeron is not an anti anxiety med and should not be used for sleep. Its a potent histamine blocker thus exerting its sedative effects. Its sedation works much like benadryl. This antidepressant should not be used for your needs plus its extensive hepatic metabolism would be detremental on your liver with concurrent AS use. Try a drug called Sonata. Its new and will do wonders for your insomnia...trust me. If you need help on how to get your doctor to prescribe this let me know

I have had this problem many times & even just recently.I've taken & tryed just about
everything there is.Certain meds that you can
get across the border that do work for insomnia but can be habit forming like Ambien 10mg,Xanax-Tafil in MEX.,& Sonata which didnt work for me.The Ambien & Xanax
do work. Most American doctors will only prescribe 10-15 pills at a time cause of the
possibility of addiction. One doctor I had
one time use to precribe me a muscle relaxer
called Klonopin that was some good shit. But
what I find to be the best for me is a mild
antidepressant called Trazodone 150mg cause
it has just about the same effect everytime
& is non habit forming,so your doctor will give you as much as you want.I just started
taking it again last week. All the other stuff
you can buy over the counter like valarien, kava, melatonin etc. are for normal
people who are just having a hard time falling asleep one or two nights out of the
week. But for people like me or you who have
clinical insomnia need a prescription medication. If you need any help on what to
tell your doctor or anything else e-mail me.

If you have taken Melatonin and it did'nt help, was it only 3mg? I have heard of people taking upto 9mg at a time with the only side affect seeming to be a "hang over" like effect in the morning and a general grogeness untill you really get up and moving.

I would'nt do to much of anything without consulting a medical authority first.

There is a new product called Blast. This stuff is basically the same as renewtrient. They had to change the formula after renewtrient was outlawed. If this stuff doesn't put you to sleep nothing will. It cost about 45 dollars for a 32 ounce bottle. Serving size is about 1 ounce.

I have had sleep problems for years. I have pills callled clonozapam which knock me out. I don't take them everyday but they do the trick with no tired fealing in the morning which you get from benadryl or tylanol pm. It is an easy script to obatain my doctor gave it to me with no problems

Clonozapam is klonapin. It is a benzodiazapam and is an extremely dangerous drug. It is very addictive and is also extremely hard on your liver. It also stays in your system for long periods of time as it stays in your fat cells. For a while it was being prescribed like crazy but further studies have made most doctors decide to back off. This whole class of drugs(BZ's) are not being used as much as newer, safer drugs are being made. This is not a flame, just think your doctor should fill you in a little bit more. I'm sure you sleep like a baby though.
