i just want to say how cool it that the older guys are still lifting their asses off. i consider 35 old since i am only 21. anybody can be young like me and put up a shit load of weight. nothin better than going to the gym and having the older guys bust your ass. it seems like everytime i go into a store i have some guy about 40 years old come up to me and tell me how good i look and that he used to look like me. so i ask them why they dont pump anymore, and they always have some excuse. i mean seriosly there are hardly any guys over 30 that are in shape anymore. anyway u gezzers kick ass, haha IP: Logged |

Good point jc21, I'm 40 and it has changed my life dramatically, and actually I end up dating women in their late twenties and early thirties, because many of the women "my age" look like hell. It goes for the men over forty as well, it's all in your mind, and if you want it bad enough, it doesn't matter how old you are. Good to hear a little respect from the younger studs here! delts ------------------ IP: Logged |

At 42 I have been lifting since my teen years and there's no way I'm letting all those years of training go to waste by quitting. I couldn't live with myself if I looked like those paunchy, toothpicked armed, defeated looking weenies. IP: Logged |

I'm 4* whatever. I've been lifting for 20 years. The only difference lifting now is when I do chest I have to wear my geriatric socks to keep the blood from settling in my feet so I don't pass out. LOL Keep it up you young whipper snappers. IP: Logged |

I am 38, and I was carded the other day buying a six-pack. You will find that if you guys continue to train the way you do at 21, you will stop aging at about 26 or so. Even though we may not be healthy with the stuff we take, the average Joe sees us and is amazed at what we look like. The only difference in me and you younger guys is that when I do bench presses, I have to make sure that my oxygen line doesn't get pinched when I bring the bar down on my chest. Peace IP: Logged |

Well, I'm 31 and I went back to school at a Big Ten university a couple years ago. Most of the other students there think I'm there age (21-23). I don't know why, but even when asked I usually tell people at school I'm 25. I guess I just don't want them treating me differently just because of my age. Anyway, a lot of people can't even believe I'm 25, and I have even had doormen ask for 2 and 3 pieces of I.D. when letting me in a club! They think I have a fake I.D. that says I'm 31! I guess my point is that I've been lifting and doing cardio consistently since 21, and it has been my fountain of youth. At 31, I'm in pretty much the best shape of my life. Once people get married and have kids, it gets harder though. I've seen a few of my friends (my age), age considerably once they started a family. Try averaging 3hrs of sleep per night for months on end, taking care of a newborn, and see how well you do. One more thing, I also have friends who are my age and look like they are 45. Why? They still go to happy hour after work almost every night, and get shit-faced every friday and saturday night...along with smoking cigarettes. That shit takes its tole, which is why I quit doing that shit a long time ago! IP: Logged |

Yes I too am in my thirties (35). I have been lifting for several years now. Before I was 40 pounds fatter and looked older since I was so out of shape. They say that resistance training increases your bodies own growth hormone. And as we get older, we need all the help we can get. IP: Logged |
