i know this is a wierd question and i would never ever share a needle but how long could hiv survive in a syringe or on needle i always have a fear that someone may have tampered with my pins IP: Logged |

You should be taking your pins out of plastic wrapping. If you are getting loose pins(out of wrapping) i would not use them! IP: Logged |

The inside of a syringe is an excellent place for any virus to live. It's basically an air tite, damp enviorment which is exactly what HIV thrives in. To be safe you should never use a pin which has even the smallest possibility of having been used. They are far to cheap to take any risk at all with. Also, sharing a multi use vial with an infected person is just as dangerous as the virus can go from their pin into the vial and then can contaminate the pin you put in anytime after this. There are many variables which make some of this hard to happen but why even take any risk at all. Many cases of Hepititis C have been caused by Tatoo parlors not changing the paint cans for each individual job. Meaning that if anybody who was worked on before you with the same paints was infected there is a strong possibility of it being passed to anyone else using the same container of paint. IP: Logged |

no i was just curious because when i pull syryinge out of my shoulder there are a few drops of blood in pin i use screw on tips and in bottom of tip there was alittle blood i was just thinkingt crazy like what if it was already there IP: Logged |

YOU CANNOT PINPOINT AN AMOUNT OF TIME. THERE ARE WAY TO MANY VARIABLES. THE SMARTEST WAY TO LOOK AT IT IS TO SAY "FOREVER". DO NOT USE A PIN UNLESS YOU OPEN THE PACKAGE. WHEN YOU ARE DONE, DISPOSE OF IT. THEY COST LESS THAN A QUARTER EACH, WHY EVEN TAKE THE MOST REMOTE CHANCE? IP: Logged |

Dude, you probably just had the plunger move back a little when you were injecting, and when you pulled it out you saw the blood. If you got your darts in factory packaging they should be individually sealed. IP: Logged |

Bro wether my darts are out of the wrapper or I have to reuse the pins (I live in NY no pins here) I always suck a little alcohol in them squirt it out of then and run lighter under them, just to be safe, the HIV virus is not a harty virus by any means, oxigen, alcohol, bleach, heat can all kill it, just run a lighter under your pin for a couple of seconds, it won't hurt you.
