I know the reasons it shouldn't be used when shipping from overseas. But what about when using a domestic source. Any problems using overnight mail when it doesn't have to clear customs? IP: Logged |

I've used domestic UPS overnight and US Mail 1-day delivery, both work fine. You will of course have to sign for packages unless your friendly UPS man knows you as a long-time resident (in which case he will leave it by front door unsigned) IP: Logged |

Good old US Mail (Priority) is the best and safest way to go. UPS being a private carrier has the right to open and inspect packages without a warrant. I'd stay away from private carriers. IP: Logged |

Use United States Parcel Service express overnight mail or priority mail both have tracking numbers and don't require a signature. IP: Logged |

I have a very close relative who works for Fed Ex corp. Here are some facts. Fed Ex does not xray any domestic packages and most world wide packages. They leave it to the drivers to recognize suspicious packages but are mostly concerned with drugs (coke, pot) and large amounts of cash. She had never heard of any A.S. being seized but said "she wouldn't be suprised". I alway ship Fed Ex!! When it absolutely positively has to be there overnight! IP: Logged |

The postal service/customs doesn't need a warrant to open a package. Only probable cause, translation "it looked odd" LOL. Do you think they get a warrant for every seized pakage? There aren't enough judges in the world for that. IP: Logged |

I just can't believe that Customs or whoever has the manpower to look at every package coming into the US and decide whether or not it looks suspicious. If it's an average size package and shows no signs of a leak what would make it suspicious anyway? IP: Logged |
