I hit 405 on the bench for the first time yesterday at bodyweight of 200 lbs. In 4th week of a 10 week Cyp,deca, dbol, trenbolone, and Eq cycle and bench has gone up 20 lbs already! Would like to reach 425 at 210 lbs. One guy in my gym says that he "used" to be able to throw up 530 a few years ago, but now he struggles with 3 plates. Anyone here who has honestly ever gotten 500 on the bench before? IP: Logged |

You're my hero, holy shit. Is that cycle all at one time? How'd you lay that out, it looks impressive. IP: Logged |

First six weeks: Cyp-600 mg/week, deca-400mg/week, dbol-25mg/day final four weeks: Deca-400mg/week, Eq-300mg/week, Trenbolone-152mg/week clomid EOD first 8weeks, then every day for two weeks starting one week after final shot. I'm thinking of throwing in some propionate in the final four weeks as well, will probably decide by next week. IP: Logged |

I lift with a guy who gets 500+, former CFL lineman. But his body weight is 350. So who is more impressive? The brother who gets 405 at 200 body weight, of course. The ultimate standard in power is 2x body weight. Way to go, Thick Dog. [This message has been edited by ironmaster (edited May 17, 2000).] IP: Logged |

I had the pleasure of once being able to press 5-p's and a quarter for 6. That was about 500 even cause it was on a smith machine which was counter balaced by about 40 lbs. I pre-exhuasted with 95 lb. D-bell flys (15 reps) and immeadiately slid under the bar to crank out 6 full deep reps on a 35 degree inclined bench. I was 265 at the time and 19 years old. IP: Logged |

I usually don't go real heavy on squats. I usually do sets of 10-12 reps with 3 plates. and go really deep. Most I ever did was 405 for 6 reps. don't do deadlifts anymore, just stifflegged for hamstrings. Even with the 405 bench, I am still a skinny little bitch though, with only 16 inch arms! IP: Logged |

600 pounds in competition with pause at 200 bodyweight. This is what I do professionally. If you need pointers on the bench...fire away. 400 is impressive my friend. less than 1% of all people who work out can achieve that. Next step is 450- then 500!! Benching on a smith does not count..I can do 700 on a smith. pure garbage. IP: Logged |

Damn Grip, awesome lifts. I bench once a week and keep my reps in the 6-8 range usually with 3 plates. It went up 8 times so easily I decided to go to unchartered territory. I always tear it up on incline right after. Do you train chest once a week? Conan, from you pics, you look like you can lift the Titanic! IP: Logged |

Incline is a waste of time. No top benchers that Iknow of do that "shoulder" movement. Stick with flat bench, Heavy db's, rack lockouts and floor press. A few days later hit you triceps hard as hell without involving the delts. It takes time to isolate the tri's, once you do, your flat bench will skyrocket. One of the biggest mistakes I see is that people do not involve your legs. You must keep you glutes tight, press on the floor with your feet, slight arch on the back without ever lifting your ass or head off the bench. Learn to use your legs and you can expect a 30% increase on thebench in no time. Once I perfected the use of my legs, my bench shot up 100 lbs. Drive your chalked down shoulders into the bench putting the motion into a slight decline. DRIVE WITH YOUR LEGS!!! IP: Logged |

I get 20 more pounds going to the lower part of the chest, right at the nipples. Not sure why, I think it is the biomechanics of the motion. Anyone else? IP: Logged |

I think it's because of the leg drive when you bring it lower on the chest. Your driving the weight slightly back toward the rack as opposed to directly out over the chest. IP: Logged |

I fractured my neck in 95 and had a lay of until early 98 and then in nov98 blew it all the way out. Feb 18,1998 had surgery, had a plate put in. Couldn't lift more 10lb for 10 months. Started back jan of 1999. Just want to say its amazing how you can lose it! I have no reason not to believe Grip - some people have a gift and his is to bench! And I can understand why he doesn't want his name all over the board, he got a proffessional rep to protect. Thanks for the info Grip, i'll have to take my feet off the end of the bench. Alway wonder how much of a diff it would make. I'll have to change and try. IP: Logged |

I think most of these guys are lying. A true 500lbs bench is truly rare (pause on the chest, no feet or head movment etc). I should be reading about these teens with 500+ Bench Presses. But for the guy who said 17.5 i think he was saying 17 Stone 5 pounds. Which would make him around 245. IP: Logged |

Yhea jake is totally right a real bench is not when there is about a foot clearence between you and the bench or you slam it down on your chest and bounce it back up.Ass on the bench head back lower it slow pause and with no momentum blast it back up. I am sorry to se these days that the gym has become a place for people to display their strength and not to build it! IP: Logged |

Eagledude- At 15, your natural test is most likely begining to kick in so the good news is that you should see some strength increases in everything including bench. Some people my friend are not good natural benchers. Find what you are naturally good at, such as the squat or deadlift and exploit that. You will grow like a weed. I am natuirally just a good bencher. At 16 yrs old at 154 lbs I was pressing high 300's but could not sqaut shit. I can still bench 100 pounds more than I can squat and to some people that is pathetic. Do I have a shitty squat at 500 lbs ass to the ground? MOST LIKELY NOT, BUT COMPARED TO MY BENCH IT IS. Eagledude- just keep pressing away and stick to basic meat and potato exercises and do not overbench. One time per week only. Nail your tris on another day and do not max out more than once oper month. It is too taxing on the nervous system!! One more time......USE your legs when you bench. It takes time to incorporate. once you do you will see the light. IP: Logged |

I saw a guy I played ball with that benched 545 for 4-5 reps when he was about 25 & he is probobly stronger now.His name is Jim Kitts he just got sighned by the Tampa Bay Bucaneers as 2nd string fullback & special teams guy.He is about 6'1" and about 250 with about 7% body fat & is fast as shit.He was with the dolphins for a couple of seasons he was the 2nd strongest guy on the team in the strength conditioning they put 225 on the bench & see how many times you can do it he did it 37 times the only other guy stronger was a lineman that weighed about 350. He played for the Albany Birds in the Arena league & was the leagues MVP.He is one hell of an athelete & swears hes never done roids I have my douts but youll never know,I remember even in jr. high he was the strongest & fastest mofo around. He has always been a genetic freak.
