I guess I got too comfortable with the pins. I made a post on the chat board today, and then went to my bedroom for my sus. Usually I sit down and hang my ass cheek off the corner of a chair, or either lay on my side, but not today. After the prep I tried to just toss the dart on in, and as soon as it broke through the skin, my knees buckled, and I was in the most pain I have ever felt in my life. I was laying on the floor with my knees, and my arms drawn up, with no one else at home. Damn. It took all the strength I had in me to reach back and get that pin out of my ass. After I got it out it didn't hurt that long, but it took me about 5 hours before I gained enough courage to turn the other cheek. The morale to this story is. Don't get so damn comfortable that you don't pay attention to what you're doing. ( When you're shooting darts in your ass)! IP: Logged |

Hey Man, You gotta be carefull!!!!! On a small portion of people you can even palpate the sciatic nerve between your ischial tuberosity and the greater trochanter of the femur. If you have injected and that gear into it and it wasn't steral you could have really fucked up. I have worked with a certain athlete that did the same thing and paralized his right leg for 3 days till they could get the imflamation down from the infection. The sciatic nerve the the head dog of lower body nerves, controling a vast majority of all lower leg functions. Stand up when you shoot and aim at a 45degree angle only 3-4 inches from the superior portion of the middle 1/3 of the glute. If your very thin then this is very important because you must really focus on hitting the thickest portion of the glutes. Also when you do it sitting on a thin person you are even more prone to to hit the nerve. LIFT HARD!!!!! IP: Logged |

If you are getting that close to the tuberosity, you need more meat on your ass! I hit a nerve the other day in the upper right quadrant so I pulled the pin out 1 cm and went about my business. My knees buckled too, but I was lucky I had a freind in the room to laugh at me when I screamed and turned as white as a ghost. IP: Logged |

The target spot for injections is the upper section of the glute. The sciatic nerve is located on the mid to lower portion of the glute, stay away from it! IP: Logged |

You don't need more meat on your ass, you need smaller needles. Hit the upper side of the cheek. I can inject there with 1/2 needle, or a 1 inch, I never use a 1 1/2 needle. Jeff IP: Logged |
