The Alaska Club in Anchorage (6 locations). Used to be Gold's Gym but the owner sold it. A bunch of Senior Citizens work out there now getting in my fucking way all the time! The music sucks! Customers complaining about the loud grunting! It has some sweet equipment though. I'm going over to The Powerhouse gym in July once it opens up.

StoneCOld, where at in PA? Near Pittsburgh, where I spend my summers, there are some good hardcore gyms. Used to work out at a Gold's, but came back, two years ago, after Labor Day weekend and it was called BodyTech. I quit on the spot and joined a badass Powergouse.

Hey Fitnesschick, I work out there because they are 24 hours!!! I hit steel at some funny hours. Some weeks late as hell, some weeks at dawn. NYSC down the road is never crowded but, they have almost NO good free weights. The dumbell selection is a joke and there is no room to use them. Pyramid has big dog weights!! Even though the trainers always complain when you drop them. I still kinda like the place. Just go late at night or early in the AM and the crowds are all gone. It is usually too crowded between 5:PM to around 9:PM after that it's fine. It only a meat market during afternoons. All the dancers are there toning up!!
Steelsoldier mentioned Apollon. Isn't that right down the street from Ethel Rd??? My doc is there. Is that a big dog gym??

Hey Dahmer....Apollon isnt bad....during peak hours its kind of crowded....I cant remember what their dumbells go up to there...but they do have a decent amount of weight....its nice cause it was in an old firehouse, still with garage doors, & when it gets warm they open them up- its almost like training outside....well, as close a swe can get here on the east coast....anyway, I cant be bothered with pyramiad....too congested with equiptment too cluttered for me....but if you need to train at crazy hours, then its the place for you.....what do dyou do anyway that requires you to trin when you do, if you dont mind me asking....

It's not my occupation that keeps me from going at normal times. I just like working out late at night. I figure, I can't sleep anyways, so why not hit steel. I haven't done the AM thing in quite a while. Sometimes, because of lack of sleep from the night before, I come home from work and take a nap, eat then go to the gym. I can't seem to break the cycle. It's like I have permanent jetlag. Then I go out during weekends and sleep in. That scews everything up!!! Maybe, I'll check out Apollon. How are there rates?? Have you tried NYSC in Rahway?? They are NEVER crowded. But unless you got in there when they were Lifestyles, you have to pay there HIGH rates!! But never crowded. Where in Jersey are you from?

hi dahmer....apollons got some great rates...no long term contracts....no hassels, no initiation fees,,,,just go pay & train....they dont make you go through any long spiel just to find out you cant afford it....i think its 389 for the year, & i think they will do 299 if you can fing a coupon in those money mailers & clipper magazines....they also do 99 for 3 months i think, & also have 1 month rates....i am not sure if these are exact cause i dont go there often anymore....they also offer student rates if you are in college & can show them an id....

Dahmer 249 a year without a coupon. Dumbells only go up to 130 as aposed to 150 at your gym dahmer. What a memory i have been their once and the only two things i remember 150lb dumbbells and weak ass people. No flame intended to you dahmer.
