Do you think when you do squat you must descend very deep, or just when your quads are parallel to the floor.
I heard a guy say he descend and his buttock touch the floor, I think isn't good for the lower back and knee save.

As long as you dont have any pre existing knee problems, go as deep as possible. So many guys put on a ton of weight and do quarter reps. lighten the load and go all the way down. Partial reps build partial muscles. If your knees start to hurt after a while, you can always go bask to parallel squats.

i tore my acl and cartilege in my right knee, but i can still get down to about 2 inches below parallel. guys that say they cant are just afraid to; afraid of the pain, but more afraid of the less weight they are going to have to use. check ur ego at the door and get ur ass to the floor.

Point your toes out a little bit and drop your ass to your heels. Don't lean forward, do push through your heels, and don't let your knees go over your toes, keep 'em over your ankles.

Ass to the ground....if it hurts your knees or lower back too much to do this, then see a Doctor...otherwise bury that ass in the ground and push through the floor with your heels, not on your toes!

I had ACL syrgery & 1/3 of my miniscus removed. Started doing 12'' box squats and have never had a problem. LEARN CORRECT FORM FIRST People will shit when they see how low you go!!!

Decrease the weight until you get used to getting more depth. At a minimum, get below parallel.

I always do real squats (which involve going well below parallel), but that may be because of my Olympic lifting background.

You guys should also try front squats. They are killer and will definitely make you sore (and not to mention nauseated).

Frontal squats are awsome...ever notice the funny looks you get while doing them ?

Rear squats must be ass draggers, how else do you poke the turtle head back into its shell ?

To the floor or out the door!!!!!!
I went to the gym to do my legs,
i brought along a dozen eggs,
i put them on the floor under my ass,
broke all 12 like they were made of glass,
spent all day picking egg shells out of my ass!
OK, OK, it only took me 1 minute to think of this!!

Go deep or go home, anything else is just a waste of time. Only reason for not squatting deep is fear, or ego because you'll have to lower the weight. Learn correct form and deep squats aren't a problem.

ATF. The knee joint is at its most vulnerable at parallel. On top of that people love bouncing at that point. Slow, controlled decent, below parallel. You'll spur growth without a doubt.
