well boys, you may remember me talking about a little problem I was having with an absess in my leg. I thought it went away after the doc gave me some anti-inflams and some topical cream. today I woke up in such pain that I couldn't walk. went to the the doc and what do ya know! I have an EXTREME intramuscular infection. my whole leg is swollen and red. In two hours I go see an orthapedic sergion to see if I have to get cut. Best case scenario I get an IV full of drugs to try to fight off the infection without getting cut. Doc says there's about a 80% chance that they'll cut me TODAY!! And you know what the worst of it is??!? I won't be able to squat for weeks!! AAAAAAAAAHHHH!!! well, I'll let you know what happens.. does any one happen to have any good info on absesses so that I can get a little educated before I go in? thanks. squatter IP: Logged |

sorry, shoulda' mentioned... EQ/t200 but it's not what I was taking cause' I've done 3 shots since the one that screwed me up. the doc says it just happens sometimes. he's seen it twice in the last two years from shots that he has administered. PEACE! IP: Logged |

As a PT..I've worked with abcesses...not a pretty picture. Getting "cut" is not all that bad. Flushing that sucker with fluid is the crappy part..especially if they have to leave it open for a few days to drain. After they eventually close it..keep it bandaged a put some 10% Bacitracin Zinc on the wound to keep scaring to a minimum. Good thing you caught it now. IP: Logged |

So abcess can happen even if you rotate sights use clean gear, steryl (sp) syringes, and alcohol to prep the spot? No way to keep it away? Slopain IP: Logged |

THAT SUCKS....A FRIEND OF MINE HAD THE SAME THING....THEY HAD TO LANCE IT & DTRAIN IT....CAUSE IT WAS INFECTED FROM SHOOTING SOMETHING HIGHLY CONTAMINATED WITH BACTERIA, THAT IT SWELLED FROM SO MUCH PUS IN IT....DONT WORRY....HE WAS BACK IN THE GYM IN A 2 WEEKS,,,,HOPE YOU ARE AS FORTUNATE WITH A QUICK RECOVERY! Look on the bright side. Myself, I just finished 30 bags of iv penicilin. 1. With all the tubes coming out of you, when people ask you can tell them you are a Borg. 2. On the dance floor the tubes and straps and pumps really look kinky. 3. You wont have to drink anymore, literally. There is a little Y coupling on the IV tube so you can administer emergency adreniline, but hey for your purposes you can use it to get a quick buzz; cheap whisky, a little coke, anything soluble.
