well this isnt a scale, but it calculates bf by factoring the size of your neck, your height, and your waist...i just cant see how accurate that could be, i would like anybody who knows their exact bf to try it and tell me how accurate it is...i found it by going to askjeeves.com and asking 'how to measure bodyfat percentage'

Let me put it this way. I'm a U.S. Marine and I exceed my weight for my height, causing them to measure my BF% with that method. According to its results Im at 12%. However to give you an idea how accurate it is my 1stSgt just about shit him self when I took off my shirt. Its hard to believe that youre at 12% when Ive got 6 very large abdominals staring right at me. I have some nice lines but have never had a actual test done. I find it VERY hard to believe that Im at 12%. Best advice was already given. How good do you look thats what matters anyway. You dont wear your numbers at the beach inked onto your chest. So let the mirror decide.

I think this method is highly inacuratte. The size of the waist can be larger for some people, for a variety of reasons, since bigger abs muscles till enlarged stomach (by eating and drinking too much, what is my case).

peanut, i cant explain how its done, if you go to askjeeves.com and type in 'how to calculate bodyfat percentage' , it will go to a page where you just enter in your neck circumference, height and waist circumference, it calculates automatically, using some kind of ratio...let me know, id appreciate it

Hope this helps dude, for males only:

Multiply your body weight(nude)by 1.082
Add this number to 94.42
Multiply your waist girth by 4.15
Subtract this number from the result you got
in step 2(this is your fat free bodyweight)
Subtract your fat free body weight from your total weight
Multiply that number by 100
Divide that number by your total body weight to obtain your body fat %

Well Easton maybe you should try again. Its
possible you didn't follow the steps correctly. Give it a shot. I know this is not 100% accurate. But it is pretty close.Good luck.

Here's my results from 3 different tests.

Caliper test = 13.9%
askjeeves.com = 12%
scarybigs formula = 11.69%

Who knows? I'll go by what I see in the mirror.

thanks peanut and everybody else for putting in their 2 cents...i think were all in the same boat, if we really gave a shit, we'd get somebody to take it for us, but if youre like me, you dont care, but are just curious...ive found alot of different formulas, and the results have ranged from 8.75-10%...so i should just say 9.5%...so unofficially, im 5'10" 207 9.5%bf

Hell no it's not accurate! I'm in the Air Force and I have to get taped because I'm "overweight" for my height. It's a load of shit. Take a guy like Dorian at his contest best 5'11 or 71 inches and I'm guessing his waist was at least 35 inches and that's being nice. His neck was probably 18 or 19 inches. You then subtract his neck measurement from the waist which would be about 16 or 17 and then plug it into this table according to height. I tried it and it put him at 12% body fat contest day hell no. You try this on any top pro then you really see how fucked up it is. I'm 5'8 210 lbs with a 17 inch neck and a 34/1/2 innch waist and it has me at 17% bf. Whatever

the bigger your neck the lower your bf seems to turn out. thats what we would do to our "fat bodies" in the corps. have them train thier neck since they didnt want to lose the fat. go figure. easy to do some sets of neck shit vice putting down the doritos and beer and running. hehe. ah well.

Big Wiggs is right, measuring your neck and waste will not in any way shape or form give you an accurate reading for body fat.

The calipers are more accurate. Bodybuilders naturally have a bigger waist if they do squats or deadlifts because your erector spiea muscles get bigger and stronger.

Tape measurements are inaccurate. I too am in the AF and the difference between calipers and tape measurements are 7% off for me. I'm here to tell ya, it's a screwed up method! The military needs to get their act together and go for a more accurate measurement. I have to see several doc's because of health problems and they too agree it's messed up, but they don't make the reg's.
Get yourself a set of plastic calipers or have it done at your local gym for a more accurate measurement. You'll be glad you did.

according to scary's test i'm at 22%. i think its safe to say that this test is not for everybody. i'd say i'm more around 15% to 17% right now, unless of course i'm wrong and scary's test is right...fuck! gotta go do some cardio right now.
