Go to a local Health club type facility. They usually have a pretty gal who'll check it for you for about 5$ IP: Logged |

Bluesy! Go to a place that uses a calipometer, where you measure the skinfold. The Bioimpedance method is most commonly used, but it`s only good for measuring how much water you have got. /Komo IP: Logged |

Try a local drug store, they sell the plastic calipers for about $15-20. Their pretty accurate for the small investment. IP: Logged |

Yeah, the clipometer is the way forward. Or you could go into a new gym, they will give you an induction course. In the course they will measure your bodyfat. Only trouble is they might want your money first... POW ------------------ IP: Logged |

If you guys go to the nearest college or univesity, any one of the health classes will usually do it for free. The always need subjects for there labs. IP: Logged |

Don't waste your time with those plastic calipers. They are highly innaccurate. They have a plus or minus of like 5%. I go to my friendly local state university and get dunked for $40. If you can't do it like this, use your mirror. How you look in it is the most important test you can take anyway. LOL RAGING BULL IP: Logged |

I just bought a scale from Tanita and it measures body fat and weight, it seems to measure it higher than calipers but thats to be expected I mean how accurate are skinfold measurments ? Later IP: Logged |

I agree that calipers aren't that accurate, but if done properly are more accurate than a bodyfat scale that measures electrical impedance. In any case, the calipers are useful in determining your progress. For example if at the same skinfold site you measure a thickness of 8mm and 2 weeks later you measure 5mm, then you know that you are leaning out and losing fat. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Tanita body fat scales are notoriously inaccurate. I could write a book but suffice to say, the fat % reading from a Tanita is way high all of the time (worse for women than men). Tanita is a good scale but a bad body fat analysis tool. Consumer report said the same thing. Stick with a caliper and someone who has been doing the "test" for a while. IP: Logged |

Hope this helps dude, for males only: Multiply your body weight(nude)by 1.082 Add this number to 94.42 Multiply your waist girth by 4.15 Subtract this number from the result you got in step 2(this is your fat free bodyweight) Subtract your fat free body weight from your total weight Multiply that number by 100 Divide that number by your total body weight to obtain your body fat % IP: Logged |

Don't use that radar/sonic waves turd. It had me at 16% to start and at 20% when I was shredded. The calipers had me at 4.7 I think. You can buy those for $20. IP: Logged |
