I know that steroids convert largely into to DHT. But my question is which roids are derivatives of DHT? Got this info from another site which did not go in to any more detail. Is there a good stack that will not intensify hair loss on someone just starting to thin?

You should avoid the more androgenic steroids (like test and Anadrol) and try something like Deca and Winstrol. But, if you wanna try the androgenic anyway put some finasteride on the cycle (Propecia or Proscar), it'll help to block this DHT conversion.

Does propecia and Deca mix? I remember reading that they should not be combined.

Oh, I forgot, I read on another board that washing your hair with a poduct called NIOXIN helps in eliminating DHT from your scalp. It says so on the label. It is supposed to be effective. Needless to say I went to my nearest hair salon and bought a big bottle of the stuff. I wonder how I should cycle it with Nizoral. Anyway, Some guys on the other board swear that Nioxin works very well.

Hope this helps.

Yeah Player, it seems that Deca and Propecia don't work together, but I was trying to say to him take the finasteride only if he wants androgenic steroids, because Deca won't do much for hair loss anyway.
About the Nioxin I never heard about, but it'll be a great idea to prevent the loss from both ways, endogenous and topically! It's a damn bad thing to be bald...

I was actually asking if it was ok to combine Deca and Propecia. Nioxin is a shampoo that you purchase at beauty salons. I really hope it works for us.

Keep in mind that finasteride will only work for those steroids that convert to DHT via the 5-alpha reductase enzyme. Therefore, mostly just the testosterones. It will not be effective for other drugs that either convert to DHT via another metabolic pathway or attach directly to the androgen receptor on the hair follicle.

I think your best bet is spironolactone or flutamide, which compete with all steroids for the receptor sites.
