I searched the archives and it didn't really yeild anything helpful. What kind of program are you guys following while on cycles. Are you staying away from triples and singles... traning more in 10-12 rep range? What kind of volume and intensity? Frequency of same body part?

Whats the deal guys, what are your routines?

tri's-30sets legs-20sets
back-20sets bi's-25sets

mostly reps between 8-12
will do one or two sets heavy with low reps 2-5

u should do 5 sets for each exercise, and depending on what your lifting for, if your lifting for definition u should do 15 -20 reps, or if your looking for mass and strength keep the reps between 6 - 8. But remember you can overtrain even on steriods. Give each muscle 48 hours rest before you lift with it again. Remember you grow when u rest.

Whats excellent is something like the following

Day 1 Chest Back Shoulders

Day 2 Legs / arms

repeat DAY 1 on Day three.

Hit the body part HARD and HEAVY with around 3 all out heavy sets / excercise.

3 excercises for Chest, 3 for back, 2 for shoulders.

And then when u come off the cycle go back to the whole body over a week routine.

works wonders

my training schedule
day 1 chest, biceps, abs
day 2 triceps, back
day 3 shoulders, abs
day 4 legs, abs
1 day off
repeat
i feel your muscles still need to rest, and don't overdue it by training alot of muscle groups in one day.

not to flame you guys....
BUT THAT IS WEAK!!
When I'm on A.S. I train as hard as I can.
at least 20 sets per bodypart.
You only need 72 hours to recover anyways.
Did I mention that I train six days a week?
My workouts are usually two-and-a-half to three hours long, with a twenty minute rest between bodyparts. If you eat right and sleep right, you shouldm't have any problem training this much......
oh yes did i mention....this is my first cycle, and i've gained 3 pounds in 4 days.
Maybe water, but maybe not....

does it matter though how much gear you are taking? Like someone taking A-bombs and 750 of sustanon would be able to do way more sets without overtraining, whereas someone taking just deca would do less? Just seems logical that that would be that way. Correct me if I am wrong..

Just because you're on gear, doesn't mean
that you won't experience overtraining!
Train hard - but also recuperate. I like
to periodize my training. For instance,
I would break my routine into heavy, high
intensity sessions and moderate intesity
sessions. On a HIGH day I would focus on
heavy weight compound movements like bent-over rows for back. Then on the medium
intensity day..I might drop down a little
in weight on the rows and maybe incorporate
a machine exercise. E-mail me and I can
give you details. ([email protected])

You should only hit a major muscle one time a week as long as you do it hard. Smaller muscles can take 2 max.

While on, I train 6 days a week. It seems if and when I over train I just become tired and fatigued. Never do i feel any kind of significant muscle pain.

Are we trying to be body builders or sprinters???? If you can do more than 8-10 reps on an exercise, you aren't lifting enough. Remember that you are trying to build muscle right now and the juice is giving you that extra pump to do it, so take advantage of it. One vet told me that once you are off the juice, never decrease the weight. Even if that means you can only do 4 -5 reps. Now is the time to build, build, build. But also remember, my big boys, that if you do too many exercises you will tear the muscle down more than it can repare itself. Balance, and finding your balance is the key. We've seen major growth and strength gain every week in Mr. Guns since we started going HEAVY, HEAVY, HEAVY, low reps, 3-4 sets per exercise and no more than 3-4 exercises per body part. Some body parts even less. Massive growth. Experiment if you want, but do what works for you.

Shit, man.... the most I EVER do for arms is 16 sets. When I do more than 12 I feel like I'm working in reverse... I lose the pump... and feel like shit. I actually find lifting each muscle group twice a week for 9-12 sets each muscle group per workout works very well. I always feel ready to go, and fully recovered. That's just me though. I used to train 2 hours a day... as many sets as I could.... and I went nowhere. With the current routine I'm on now, an hour to an hour and 15 a day... I don't seem to stop growing.
To each his own.

guys, i just got back from the gym.
22 sets on biceps, 18 sets on back
i started my first cycle on wednesday, five days ago. I have gone from 208.5 lbs to 217.
now, there is a little more water in my body, but shit! i bet i'll gain ten pounds this week!
by the way, my buddy is natural and he does 35 sets on chest, and he trains chest every other day! he hasn't gotten a whole lot bigger but his bench goes up at least 15 pounds a month.Go figure. It just depends on you.

jesus christ you guys, these amounts of sets are ludicrous
i really don't see how there's any possible way you can do more than about 12 sets for ANY BODY PART if you are going ALL OUT ALL THE TIME
there's just no way it can happen
i'm a pretty big dude who can lift quite a bit of weight and i feel like i can kick just about anybody's ass in the gym with my intensity
i eat a ton of food, take a ton of drugs, and there's just no way i could go into the gym six days a week and do 20 sets per bodypart
i'd send my body into such a state of catabolism that i wouldn't grow for shit
i think there's a lot to be said for the "less is more" theory popularized by guys like yates and mentzer
but again, it varies from person to person
why do you think the pros only do a few sets per bodypart?
