That is alot of water. There are a number of good reasons to drink alot of water: 1) Cleans your system 2) Helps weight gain (water weight) 3) Keeps body hydrated. Juice can absorb available water in your body so it is best that you drink more than normal to compensate. I don't everyone has to drink two gallons a day , whoever told you that is not making much sense. The quantity depends on the person (I drink between 5-7 litres a day ... or 1-2 gallons a day) , but that depends alot IP: Logged |

I agree with you to a point I usually drink 2 gallons of water a day when I'm using hydroxycut and or clenbuterol for the simple reason anything that is a mild diuretic is going to dehydrate you to a point and if you don't replenish this dehydration you are going t feel very shitty and you are going to be prone to cramping. You guys musn't train very hard, if you only drink a gallon a day. I drink a gallon at the gym alone. Then 2-2.5 more, over the course of the day. People won't hesitate to eat 500 grams of protein a day...or whack huge amounts of test into their ass.....but when asked to answer their bodies' basic needs...they refuse.... IP: Logged |

I just thought this would be interesting to add, since we're on the topic of drinking lots of water. I read somewhere that drinking too much water "fucks you up" like a drug. It has something to do with it thinning out your blood. I even remember reading about how there were clinics for it where they have to use dry flush toilets, otherwise the "water addicts" will drink straight fromt the toilet. I think they were drinking somewhere along the lines of at least five gallons a day. Maybe some of us are 1/2 way to being a water junkie. IP: Logged |

Beercan, do you drink 3 - 3.5 gal/day on a consistant basis. That's a fuckin lot of water to drink day in and day out. You must take a piss every 30 minutes throughout the course of a 16 hour day. IP: Logged |

Bro, 2 gallons of water is not excessive (depending on your body weight). It might be a lot if you weight 130. But if you're 200 or above (most of us) it's a good amount. I get close to a gallon in the gym. The benefits of water are numerous - but the bottom line is the body is 70% water and it needs a large supply. Also, the more you drink the less you retain. I usually go thorugh almost a gallon at the gym as well and then another 1-2 gallons throughout the day. Of course it's f'n over 100 degrees here in the summer, but I drink that even in the winter months. As for pissing every 30 seconds or whatever... your kidneys adjust to that amount. For the first week or so if you drink that much you'll be pissing like a mad man. But then things will adjust and you'll only be pissing a little more than the next guy. Seriously... I can't believe how little people dirnk of water. To me if you're not drinking a gallon or two (esp. if your on) then you've got to re-think your strategy. ------------------ IP: Logged |

along the lines of water getting you "fucked up". i have to agree. my roomate used to drink a gallon of water fairly quickly and be all weird after. he even stated that he felt weird. like he had a buzz. strange. not sure what this phenom is called but it is funny to observe. also, probably repeating, but water is necessary for all functions of digestion, ie protein assimilation etc., and it cant hurt to get plenty of it. those taking AS should be especially concious to drink enough to flush out impurities in the system and due to increased metabolism and anabolism. muscle is only part protein and more water so get enough of both. only thing to watch for is flushing out your electrolytes with an excess of water. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Hey I drink 2 to 2.5 gallons a day, but I'm getting ready for a contest. Well that much till I de-hydrate. Anyway everyone needs at least a gallon a day it helps keep you cleaned out. The more protein you take in the more water you need, because protein fucks with your renal functions and you need to keep that going good ha. IP: Logged |

I always drink at least 3.I can hang on for an hour and 15 minutes w/o pissing (the length of classes)...I weigh 215 now.....and I drink 4 gallons sometimes, if I'm up for 16 hours....I try not to be awake for more than 13......More sleep = more muscle. It's really no big deal, once you get used to it. IP: Logged |

Drinking plenty of water helps prevent the roid gut by washing excess starches and etc. It also cleans your system out when stuffing protein, and as a theory i bleive it helps push the food through your system so that u wont be on a full stomach of undigested food that may turn into fat instead just water that u will eventually piss out. Its also said that water is good for the joints and tendons and u never want to be dehyrated anyway swoll Patrol IP: Logged |

Listen to what Matt says. It is true that the more you drink, the less you retain. Your body wants to hold all it can if you are not giving it adequate amounts. It helps so much with digestion of all the food you should be ingesting, and to me the best benefit of large amounts of water is to flush those kidneys. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I saw something on TV the other night about people drinking excess amounts of water to get high, like Peety said. That's funny stuff. Since I started drinking lots of water, I have noticed that my vascularity has increased dramaticaly. IP: Logged |
