![]() ![]() ![]() does it make a difference if the majority of your protein consumption takes place before you work out? or should it be after? IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The best time for ingestion of protein is immediately after a workout you can utilise upto 100g of protein but for best absorbtion you this must be in liquid form. Otherwise you can synthesize approx 25g protein every 2 hours (if i remember correctly). This info comes from a question I asked an IFBB pro last weekend so it's good info. Ingestion through the night is also good (not really practical though) as we feed our bodies plenty during the day but starve it for 8 - 9 hours at night. ![]() ![]() ![]() Protein digestion leads to an inceased nitrogen balance. This increased nitrogen retention is the main component of muscle building. The important thing is to keep a consistently high nitrogen balance to ensure the proper muscle building environment. Post workout supplementation of protein should be your number one priority if consistent consumption is unattainable. IP: Logged |
